Simon Stiell is the executive secretary of UN Climate Change, whose aim is to address the climate crisis by supporting countries to move towards climate resilience and low-emissions strategies.

Why you should listen

As executive secretary of UN Climate Change, Simon Stiell leads the UN’s collective global response to the climate crisis. From 2013 to June 2022, he served in a number of ministerial roles in the government of Grenada, including minister of climate resilience and environment for five years, and prior to that holding ministerial portfolios for education and agriculture.

Before entering politics, Stiell had a 14-year career in the technology sector, holding senior executive positions in several industry-leading companies.
