Oral McGuire is a Nyungar community leader, landholder and long-term champion of Aboriginal economic empowerment. As principal consultant of Gundi Consulting, he shares perspectives from his Whadjuk/Ballardong Nyungar heritage with government, private and nonprofit entities to improve land management across Australia. His cultural knowledge of the land and forest has been passed down through Nyungar stories, song lines, beliefs and appreciation of Nyungar sacred places.

For more than a decade, McGuire and his family have been transforming their 2,100-acre property back to its natural state, aiming to plant one million trees and create a Nyungar cultural sanctuary. With 18 years experience as a professional firefighter, McGuire is today a champion of traditional land and fire management practices.
