Chezare A. Warren, PhD, is an author, artist and nationally recognized scholar of race and intersectional justice. He is associate professor of education policy and associate professor of teaching and learning (secondary) at Vanderbilt University’s Peabody College of Education and Human Development. He maintains affiliated faculty status in African American and Diaspora Studies and serves as faculty head of Sutherland House, a first-year residence hall at Vanderbilt. He is principal investigator (PI) and Convener of The Possibilities Project, an "arts-informed knowledge hub" committed to generating and amplifying evidence-based Black education solutions.

Dr. Warren has received several national recognitions for his research published in top peer-reviewed outlets, including Educational Researcher, Urban Education and Journal of Teacher Education. He has also been PI or co-PI on research projects totaling more than $1.3 million in grant funding from agencies that include the Spencer Foundation, William T. Grant Foundation and Kellogg Foundation. He is the author of two books — Urban Preparation (Harvard Education Press, 2017) and Centering Possibility in Black Education (Teachers College Press, 2021) — and has co-edited several volumes and authored or co-authored more than 50 articles, reports, commentaries and other publications since 2013.
