In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Bivitri Susanti

Graduated from University of Indonesia and the University of Washington, Bivitri Susanti is a distinguished legal scholar and activist known for her extensive work in promoting democracy and human rights in Indonesia. Co-founded of the Center for Indonesian Law and Policy Studies (PSHK), she played a pivotal role in advocating for legal reforms and strengthening the rule of law. Her dedication to social justice and her impactful contributions to Indonesia's legal landscape have made her a respected figure in both academic and activist circles.

Franz Magnis Suseno

As a renowned philosopher, Franz Magnis-Suseno pursued his education in Germany, including obtaining a doctorate in philosophy from Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München in 1973 with a dissertation on Karl Marx's thought. This Jesuit priest co-founded the Driyarkara School of Philosophy in Jakarta, where he has held various teaching and leadership roles. His work encompasses over 700 articles and 44 books focusing on ethics, political philosophy, and Javanese thought. He has received numerous awards for his contributions, including the Bintang Mahaputera Utama from the President of Indonesia and the Das Große Verdienstkreuz from the Federal Republic of Germany.
