Theme: The Mosaic of Me

This event occurred on
September 8, 2024

In the grand tapestry of life, we are threads woven together, forming intricate patterns that define our existence. Under the vast expanse of the sky and the boundless stretch of the ocean, we share a common humanity, yet our individual experiences and expressions create a rich mosaic. This mosaic is a reflection of the countless images, songs, conversations, quotes, and thoughts we absorb from society. These elements shape our habits, influence our perspectives, and ultimately, become integral parts of our identity.

But who are we beneath this mosaic? Strip away the societal layers, and what remains of our core self? Do we truly understand our essence independent of the influences that surround us? These are the questions that lie at the heart of our theme, 'Mosaic of Me: The Intersection of Self and Society.'

From the moment we are born, we begin to internalize the world around us. The lullabies sung by our parents, the stories told by our elders, the lessons learned in school, the media we consume, and the interactions we have—all contribute to the construction of our inner selves.

Each experience adds a unique tile to our personal mosaic, creating a picture that is uniquely ours yet shared in its materials. Society is the artist that shapes us, but we, too, have a hand in choosing the colors and patterns. We are constantly influenced by the cultural milieu, yet we also possess the power to reflect, resist, and redefine these influences. Our individuality emerges in the interplay between the external and internal, the collective and the personal.

In this exploration of the self, we invite you to ponder the following: Without the songs that touch our souls, the conversations that challenge our minds, the images that captivate our hearts, who are we? Can we find an authentic self beneath the layers of societal influence, or are we inextricably linked to the mosaic that society helps us create?

'Mosaic of Me: The Intersection of Self and Society' seeks to delve into these profound questions. It is an opportunity to examine how the fragments of our experiences come together to form our identity, and how our individuality contributes back to the societal mosaic. Through diverse voices and perspectives, we will explore the dynamic relationship between self and society, celebrating the beautiful complexity of human identity.

Join us on this journey at TEDxPrahladnagar, where we will gather to share stories, insights, and reflections. Together, we will uncover the layers of our mosaics and appreciate the artistry that lies at the intersection of self and society. Let us celebrate the unique patterns that each of us contributes to the collective masterpiece of humanity.
