Julissa Torres, who prefers to be called Juli, is a current 12th grader passionate about history and international relations. She is part of the third generation of Young Scholars Academy at the American School of Guatemala, a Yale Young Global Scholars alumni, a law firm intern, and a volunteer English teacher. Juli loves playing piano, swimming, reading, and learning new things like cooking. Karla de los Ángeles Archila Gamboa

Karla de los Angeles Archila Gamboa, a dedicated Grade 12 student is passionate about space exploration and astronomy. Inspired by the club's activities, Karla joined the NOVA Club in ninth grade and quickly became a leader, serving as president since tenth grade. Under her leadership, the club has flourished, organizing rocket competitions, stargazing nights, and scientific dissemination events for the entire high school community.
Karla's commitment to space exploration has extended beyond school walls. In 2023, she participated in the inaugural (1st) Central American Space Congress and eagerly awaits the second edition this September. As a co-founder, Head of Rocket Design & Propulsion, and Head of Scientific Dissemination at the Novice Guatemalan Institution for Innovation in Space Technology (IGNITE), Karla plays a pivotal role in fostering a culture of innovation and inspiring others to keep looking up.
