TEDxBMU is set for their third Edition this year with a theme of, ‘ROOTS.’ Like in the past, this year the event looks forward to host some of the best speakers available in the region and try to create an environment to give the student community a platform for continous development. Why this theme? Because it is more important to remeber our roots than ever before. Our roots are like anchors, grounding us in the essence of our origin. They are the silent architects of our identity, shaping who we are and what we stand for. Our values are deeply embedded in these roots, serving as our moral north stars.

Deepak Gupta

Deepak Gupta is the Co-Founder & Chief Operating Officer (C00) at Bombay Shaving Company, leading the vision of taking the homegrown Hair Removal & Personal Care brand to 2 crore bathrooms, with 5 products, creating 10 minutes of happiness everyday. He leads the mandate of driving the Company into the new era of the Consumer Products business across domestic and global markets. Under his leadership, Bombay Shaving Company has scaled 6X to a 360 ARR company (Projected FY 24), started a women's hair removal brand, Bombae, and an independent D2C Services division - 100Days, specializing in building and managing digital value chain for large traditional players. Since Deepak took over as COO in 2021, Bombay Shaving Company has transformed into a truly omni-channel enterprise with a solid people centric culture. Before this, Deepak spent 10+ years leading strategic efforts across Sales, Marketing and Supply Chain for one of the world's most penetrated companies - Colgate-Palmolive. During his tenure as the Head of Sales Operations and Strategy in China, Deepak witnessed a tremendous mushrooming of brands which launched online and quickly scaled offline. Bombay Shaving Company has followed a similar trajectory and today caters to over 1.5 million customers every quarter Deepak is an alumni of IIT- Bombay with specializations in Strategy, Analytics and People Science In 2022, he was recognized as a 'Fortune 40 Under 40' Business Leader for his stellar contributions to Bombay Shaving Company, and for being an influential voice in India's startup ecosystem.

Deepak Pareek

Deepak Pareek is the co-founder of Iceberg Creations LLP, a media production house known for producing impactful content, including the Bengali feature film Akorik, which explores the disintegration of joint families. The film was showcased at the Kolkata International Film Festival in 2022. He is also a prominent digital content creator, podcaster, and TEDx speaker. As the host of The Chill Hour, Deepak has interviewed notable figures from diverse fields such as Bollywood, sports, and media, including Gajraj Rao and Niharicka Singh. Recognized for his creative contributions, Deepak was named in the IMPACT Top 30 Under 30 for his achievements in digital content and media production.

Gaurav Mehta

A celebrated voice in the world of marketing, Gaurav Mehta is currently leading Noise’s marketing strategies as a Chief Marketing Officer, driving transformative initiatives and spearheading comprehensive campaigns to establish it as a formidable brand in the competitive market. Throughout his illustrious career spanning over two decades, Gaurav has been instrumental in driving the success of renowned brands such as Yahoo, OLX, Car Dekho, and Zupee, establishing them as industry powerhouses. With his entrepreneurial background, Gaurav understands the challenges and timelines involved in nurturing startups and creating effective systems from the ground up, allowing him to strike a balance between innovation and scalability and ensuring sustainable growth for brands. He has been honoured as the Marketer of the Year and Forty under Forty by Exchange4Media, and recognized as a Power Profile by LinkedIn, for his exceptional achievements and significant contributions to the marketing industry. Gaurav Mehta is a MICA alumnus, where he earned his MBA degree, further fortifying his expertise in the realm of marketing. Besides his professional endeavours, he enjoys sports and he is an avid reader with a great interest in politics, economics and history.

Rohit Gulati

Rohit Gulati is the Director of Marketing for Johnson & Johnson Vision in India and South Asia. With nearly two decades of experience in the healthcare industry, he has held leadership roles across sales, marketing, and strategy. His expertise spans various therapy areas, including orthopedics, ophthalmology, infusion therapy, and endoscopy. At Johnson & Johnson Vision, Rohit is a member of the Vision Care India Leadership Team and the Regional Marketing Council. Rohit is known for his contributions to marketing excellence, technology-driven innovation, and customer experience strategies. His leadership style emphasizes empowering teams and driving revenue growth through digital transformation and strategic partnerships. He has also been an active speaker at industry events and a TEDx speaker, sharing insights on building healthcare ecosystems and leveraging digital tools for impactful marketing.

Sanghamitra Bose

Sanghamitra Bose hails from a Bengali family and completed her post graduation in English literature from Jadavpur University, Kolkata. She has always been passionate about education and in 2002 she left her job with a multinational agency to follow her two passions, one of writing and the other of teaching . Many of her articles, short stories have been published in reputed newspapers and magazines. To provide quality education to the children and youth who have no access to it, she registered a charitable trust in 2003 named Shrishti Trust. She continues to forge ahead with her mission to create a literate and empowered India by helming the organisation as its CEO.

Shariq Patel

Mr. Shariq Patel, Ex-Chief Business Officer – Zee Studios - Shariq spearheaded the Films business of Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd. Following his MBA from NMIMS, Mumbai, in a career of almost 30 years, Shariq has worked in companies across industries including Financial Services, Internet, Telecom, Radio, Sports Management and Film Production. As a leader in multiple management teams, Shariq has brought core business tenets and processes in multiple large organisations.

Veda Hrudya Nadendla

Veda Hrudya Nadendla is a dynamic TEDx speaker, recognized for her expertise in storytelling, brand strategy, and innovation. As a 30 Under 30 achiever and a natural leader. Self-taught brand marketer & media professional with 12+ years experience of building brands, shaping customer journeys & growing businesses such as MakeADifference, YouthKiAwaaz, Harappa Education, IIFL Wealth & Masters' Union; Veda has contributed to diverse industries & sectors including education & edtech, fintech, consumer tech, media, wellness and film. Veda had also co-founded & eventually exited two businesses between 2015-2018 - a circular jewellery outfit called ShopZiddi and a video production house. She is a certified Naturalist, who is documenting and studying other life forms on earth following 7+ years of self teaching ornithology. As the Head of Brand Marketing & Media at Masters' Union, Veda and her team led the brand's Zero-To-One journey alongside the Founding team.
