Kaptza

Band
Kaptza is a (folk) band of musicians from Hungary and Felvidék. The ensemble was formed in 2022 thanks to the Petőfi Cultural Agency's scholarship programme, although fortunately the members were already good friends before that. With the scholarship, they are studying bluegrass and various musical styles at East Tennessee State University. In addition to their studies, they are working on an authentic Hungarian folk music album with Bea Salamon, which will be recorded in Nashville in May. Supplementing their repertoire of Hungarian folk music, they occasionally draw from musical treasures of other cultures, or even improvised melodies, depending on the audience's desires and the quantity and quality of the substances consumed. They take every opportunity to play music before flying home to Hungary. The band members: Levente Fajkusz - violin, vocals Fajkusz Domonkos - double bass, vocals Márton Lelkes - accordion, vocals Kőhalmy Ádám - cimbalom, vocals Mátyás Nyárfás - viola, vocals
