Like all great things, it started with an idea. During her talk at TEDxWomen last year, filmmaker Tiffany Shlain delved into the issue of connectivity, of how people have the capability to extend and connect to ideas all around the world.
“We are in the beginning of a participatory revolution, where people’s ideas can interact, cross-pollinate and reproduce on a global scale,” she commented. “Innovation happens when people from different perspectives come together around problems. And now we have this global framework for them to come around the biggest problems of our day.”
It is precisely this idea that forms the basis for TEDxKL 2012’s theme “Interdependence”, where we seek to explore how every single entity, no matter how distinct or conflicted they may be, plays a role in each other’s survival, development, progress or change.
This year we will be featuring a cast of 12 presenters from all around the world including two presenters who have spoke at TED.
