Theme: The ripple effect of revolution.

Imagine a quiet and calm pool of water – it normally would never be associated with power. And yet, something powerful is about to happen; a movement. But it starts quite small—with just one drop. A drop can create a ripple. And we believe that just a single drop, a single man or woman, a single leader, can cause a ripple so great and powerful, that the whole world can be altered for good. Like a ripple itself, the influence a single person can have creates hope and change across the entire globe, revolutionizing it in the process.

All this –change, influence, revolution– happens because of one single ripple.

The theme of TEDXZahiraCollege wishes to spark an actionable understanding on how small acts can create a big impact. The theme touches on how understanding can lift your spirits and break down your thought barriers. These talks will raise the bar and force you to let go of judgement. With this year’s theme ‘The ripple effect of revolution’ we want to inspire, to trigger a calling, step by step, action by action, what once seemed a far-off dream is now a real possibility. Together, Sri Lanka will rise to meet the most progressive thought-leaders, while slowing down our pace to share in the present moment.

Alosha is very interested in biology, especially marine biology, marine life, and oceanography. I don't understand why time and money are wasted trying to find life and aliens in outer space when our oceans are full of undiscovered life and many beautiful surprises. I am passionate about exploring and conserving the mysterious oceanic world.

Haroon is 11 years old and has been very passionate about pets that We had at our place time to time. He taught us how we should connect, respect and value household pets at his tender age. He is going to talk how human can become a better person by connecting with pets at home .

Jehan Wijesinghe

Jehan Wijesinghe is an Entrepreneur & Product Development specialist with experience in building innovative products for local & international markets. He co-founded IgniterSpace in 2016 and as the CEO from 2016 - 2021, he was responsible for the growth of the company from its initial stages. In Jehan's tenure in the EdTech field, he was able to work closely with government & private educational organizations in fostering innovative education in Sri Lanka. His current focus is in high tech product incubation where he is involved in heading product development of multiple tech products such as Rooster, Avocado, etc, as the Head of product management at Paladin Analytics. He is also an avid startup mentor and entrepreneurship coach for up-and-coming entrepreneurs.

Ragulan Tharmakulasingham

"Ragulan, the Founder and Director of Epitom Digital, Pick a Book, Life After Retirement (LAR) and Simbutu, is a qualified Marketer and Social Entrepreneur. He has played a key role in building entrepreneurship and a knowledge based society through his expertise in marketing, management and leadership. Spearheading a global change through Pickabook, a movement created to transform lives through reading, LAR (Life After Retirement) a platform to uplift the lives of senior citizens, and Simbutu, a community for pet lovers, he has provided leadership to numerous new ventures focused on personal development. As the Regional Director for BNI (Business Network International) in Sri Lanka, the world’s largest referral marketing organization which comprises of a membership of over 250,000 globally, Ragulan was successful in implementing transformational changes and inspiring a number of entrepreneurs and decision makers who became strong contributors of the BNI fraternity. Ragulan holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from the University of Colombo, is a Chartered Marketer, accredited by the Chartered Institute of Marketing, and is a recipient of the prestigious recognition as the Sri Lankan prize winner for Marketing in Practice and Strategic Marketing in Practice in the years 2007 and 2009 respectively. I exhibit an Entrepreneurial mindset by developing a business module that solves major community problems. Experience covers Design, Developing, Deploy and demonstrating Smart bin waste management system for domestic, commercial, and industrials.
