Therese Tipton
Principal of Raisbeck Aviation High School
Therese Tipton received a double major from Washington State University in Education and Business Administration. She worked as the oversees production manager for a Northwest apparel manufacturer where she helped coordinate on-time delivery for over $5 million dollars per month in garment manufacturing. Therese moved back to Seattle in 2016, where she was appointed as principal of Raisbeck Aviation High School. RAHS is one of the top five high schools in Washington, where teachers take pride in providing an innovative learning experience for students in the context of aviation and aerospace. As a Northwest native, Therese values immensely the great contribution that the local aviation and aerospace companies have made to RAHS along with the very important mentor and internship opportunities for the students. Therese is also a Board Member of NCSSS (National Consortium of Secondary STEM Schools) as well as a Director in the CAPS Network (Center for Advanced Professional Studies).
Vin Gupta
MD, MPA, public health physician, professor, and health policy expert
As a Harvard-trained lung specialist, Dr. Gupta has spent the past 15 years working worldwide to improve public health for organizations including the US Centers for Disease Control, the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation, the Harvard Global Health Institute, the World Health Organization, and the Pentagon’s Center for Global Health Engagement. Given his diversity of experiences, he is now a trusted advisor and contributor to national and international media outlets on several of the most important health issues today, including serving as a regular health policy analyst for NBC News and contributor to the New York Times and CNN New Day. Dr. Gupta is committed to voicing evidence-informed perspectives across a range of critical issues like domestic US healthcare reform, the vaping epidemic, the effects of climate change on human health, and gun control. In doing so, he speaks honestly and is driven by evidence, not opinion or dogma.
