TEDxCLASP presents Resources for Resilience: Lifelong Learning, Peace, Security and the Sustainable Development Goals
In this program we explore multiple entry points of action and transformation in humanity’s endurance race to sustainability. Offering a mix of explanatory and personal narrative, the program includes live talks and recorded messages from multiple countries addressing the theme of resources for resilience.
Presenters of live talks include:
• Annalisa L. Raymer, Cornell University; Lifelong Learning and Actionable Hope
• David L. Kay, Cornell University; Sustainable Development Goals: The Nexus between Climate Change & Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions
• Cecilia Idika-Kalu, University of Massachusetts, Lowell; Security and Sense-making for Sustainable Peace
Recorded presenters include:
• Amanda Gorman, a poet, activist, change-maker, she is the Gorman is the first person to be named National Youth Poet Laureate. Amanda delivers a spoken poem about the big blue marble.
• David Lammy is the Labour Member of Parliament for Tottenham, England, where he conducted a landmark review of the criminal justice system looking at the treatment of and outcomes for Black and minority ethnic people in British courts and prisons. He speaks on Climate Justice for Black Lives Matter.
• Christiana Figueres is an international climate leader and she served as executive secretary of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) during the talks that lead to the Paris Agreement. She speaks on Stubborn Optimism.
