Charles Pezeshki
I am a professor of engineering at Washington State University in Pullman, a world traveler (38 different countries,) a father of two teenage boys, and a husband. I attempt to be a servant of humanity. I am a published professor in the field of design theory and high performance work teams. I run a large Design Clinic with over 300 successfully completed tech. projects. I’ve worked on organizing sustainability education in Europe. And I’m also one of the second-wave pioneers in understanding nonlinear dynamics and complex system theory. I was one of the folks (not the only one!) who figured out how chaos and fractals relate to each other.
Deepti Singh
I am a climate scientist motivated by the potential for climate studies to minimize future disaster risk to vulnerable communities around the world. I am an Assistant Professor in the School of the Environment at Washington State University Vancouver (WSUV). My research explores the physical drivers of climate extremes, and their impacts on agriculture, water availability and human health. I am particularly interested in studying extremes such as intense rainfall, droughts, and heat waves in monsoonal climates that affect the billions of people with relatively poor adaptive capacity living in these regions.
Kara Whitman
Dr. Kara Whitman is a faculty member in the School of the Environment at Washington State University, where she teaches courses in environmental science. She was formerly a project coordinator for the Ruckelshaus Center, a joint venture between Washington State University and the University of Washington.
Von Walden
Dr. Von Walden is a professor in the Laboratory for Atmospheric Research (LAR) at Washington State where he teaches engineering courses in remote sensing, radiative transfer, and fluid mechanics. His research focuses on remote sensing of polar atmospheres and climate change.
