Avi Natesan

Entrepreneur + Student

Avi Natesan is a 20 year old who is currently doing her BE in Computer Science at SSN College of Engineering, Chennai. At age 17, Avi started India's First and Largest Online Slime shop, where she sells 'slime' - a non toxic, stretchy, versatile substance- which can be used as a toy for kids or a stress buster for adults. For her enterprising start-up, Avi was one of the Top 10 young entrepreneurs on Instagram by the Bombay Economic Times and has featured in multiple newspapers and magazines. In addition to this, Avi is also a self taught origamist. Her avid interest in paper folding has propelled her to fold intricate and complex models. She has conducted 3 origami workshops in VIT University- for the undergraduate engineering & architecture students.

Patruni Sastry

Drag Performer + LGBTQ Activist

Patruni Chidananda Sastry aka Suffocated Art Specimen (S.A.S), is a drag performer, LGBTQIA+ Activist, and a classical expressionist dancer from Hyderabad. He utilizes drag and his dance as a means of educating the public on gender sensitization, sexual education, gender awareness and women empowerment. A trained Bharatanatyam, Kuchipudi, Odissi and Butoh artist; he tells powerful, and thought-provoking stories.

Premkumar S

Debater + Spokesperson

Premkumar is an independent researcher and a popular spokesperson in debating community on shows like Neeya Naana. A lecturer by profession and a speaker by passion. Influenced by Western philosophy and being a post graduate on political science, he works on Trade relations between India and China and also the Political Economy of Major Eastern Powers. He's often on interaction with the student community.

Sonia Balamurugan

Research Scientist

Sonia Balamurugan is a Research Engineer working in the field of Industrial and Systems Engineering. She finished her schooling in Jayendra Silver Jubilee School in Tirunelveli and went on to pursue her Bachelor's degree at the National University of Singapore (NUS). She collaborates with cross-disciplinary teams consisting of industry users, researchers and management professionals to successfully translate research outcomes into industry applications. She is also passionate about environmentalism and women's liberation.

Shanti Bhavan Alumnus

Ever believed in fairy tales? With relentless effort, fueled by passion and belief, fairytales do come true. Such is the life of Vijayalakshmi Vivegan, an alumnus of Shanti Bhavan. Shanti Bhavan is a non-profit educational organization dedicated towards empowering children from India's lowest socioeconomic class to break the unending cycle of generational poverty. "Daughters of Destiny" is a noteworthy Netflix documentary highlighting the tireless and hopeful efforts of Shanti Bhavan.
