Theme: More no more

TEDxMantova "More, no more", wants to identify and propose what will help our community, society and the planet to progress and prosper, having as reference framework the Sustainable Development Goals set by the United Nations. These 17 goals are aimed at global development, the promotion of the well-being of humanity and the protection and regeneration of the environment. They aim to end poverty, to fight against inequality, to social and economic development, and to take up aspects of fundamental importance for sustainable development such as tackling climate change and building peaceful societies. The SDGs have universal validity, as the United Nations has requested all countries, institutions and businesses to provide a concrete contribution to their achievement, which must take place by 2030. So we still have ten years available for action!
Within this framework, TEDxMantova “More, no more” wants to share, through our speakers, ideas on what we want to see more in our community and in society (sustainability; happiness; humanity; opportunities for youth; good science, technology and business) and on what we no longer want to see (lack of integration, discrimination, pollution, degradation, loss of meaning), so that people and relationships could flourish in harmony.

Arianna Visentini

Entrepreneur and consultant

Arianna Visentini è co-fondatrice e Presidente e di Variazioni Srl, società nata a Mantova nel 2009. Precursore in tema di smart working, Arianna si occupa di consulenza su innovazione dei processi organizzativi, change management, welfare e da più di dieci anni aiuta le aziende a introdurre lo smart working e realizza progetti di flessibilità di tempi e spazi di lavoro. Arianna is co-founder and President of Variazioni Srl, a company founded in Mantua in 2009. A forerunner in the field of smart working, Arianna provides consultancy on innovation of organisational processes, change management and welfare. For more than ten years she has been helping companies to introduce smart working and implementing projects for the flexibility of working time and space.

Francesco Sottile

Professor

Frabcesco Sottile è docente presso l'Università di Palermo e tecnico della Fondazione Slow Food per la Biodiversità, e ha intrapreso diverse esperienze sia in Italia sia all'estero nell'ambito della conservazione della stessa. Ha curato la pubblicazione di numerosi testi scientifici ed è autore del libro “Agricoltura Slow””. Francesco Sottile is a Professor at the University of Palermo and a Technician of the Slow Food's Foundation for Bio-diversity, Francesco has embarked on a multitude of projects both in Italy and abroad in the field of biodiversity's conservation. He has published numerous scientific papers and he is the author of the book "Agricoltura Slow".

Guido Poli

Immunologist-virologist

Guido Poli è immuno-virologo, ricercatore, docente e Presidente del Corso di Laurea in Ricerca Biotecnologica in Medicina dell’Università Vita-Salute San Raffaele. È inoltre Fondatore e Presidente del Patto Trasversale per la Scienza, che ha come obiettivo la promozione e la diffusione della scienza e del metodo scientifico sperimentale in Italia, al fine di superare ogni azione che generi disinformazione su temi scientifici. È autore di oltre 250 pubblicazioni scientifiche. Guido Poli is an immuno-virologist, researcher, professor and President of the Course in Biotechnological Research in Medicine at the University Vita-Salute San Raffaele. He is also Founder and President of the Transversal Pact for Science, which aims at promoting and spreading science and the experimental scientific method in Italy, so to overcome any action that generates misinformation on scientific matters. He is the author of over 250 scientific publications.

Martina Panisi

Biologist

Martina Panisi è Biologa della conservazione, educatrice e National Geographic Explorer 2018. Le sue ricerche attraverso l'Università di Lisbona si concentrano su animali meno tipicamente carismatici, come gli invertebrati. Attraverso il progetto Forest Giants con l'ONG Alisei, Martina si occupa di sensibilizzare sul ruolo che ogni persona può svolgere per la salvaguardia della biodiversità. Martina è stata vincitrice del premio Terre de Femmes, che finanzia progetti al femminile a favore dell’ambiente e del sociale. Martina Panisi is a conservation biologist, educator and National Geographic Explorer 2018. Her research through the University of Lisbon focuses on less typically charismatic animals, such as invertebrates. Through the Forest Giants project with Alisei NGO, Martina works on raising awareness on the role that each person can play in safeguarding biodiversity. Martina won the Terre de Femmes award, which finances women's projects about environmental and social issues.

Rita Trombin

Environmental psychologist

Rita Trombin, psicologa ambientale specializzata in Design Biofilico, ha la missione di aiutare le persone a riconnettersi con la natura, soprattutto negli spazi urbani e indoor, dove la maggior parte della popolazione mondiale trascorre ogni giorno il 90% del proprio tempo. Ha vissuto, viaggiato e effettuato ricerche in oltre 30 paesi. Ognuno di questi ambienti ha contribuito a plasmarla come ricercatrice, formatrice, consulente, autrice e public speaker. Rita Trombin, an environmental psychologist specialized in Biophilic Design, has the mission of helping people reconnect with nature, especially in urban and indoor spaces, where most of the world's population spends 90% of their time every day. She has lived, travelled and done research in over 30 countries. Each of these environments has contributed to shape her as a researcher, lecturer, consultant, editor and public speaker.

Tommaso Protti

Tommaso Protti è un fotografo impegnato in progetti fotografici a lungo termine. Nel 2014 si è trasferito in Brasile, documentando la crisi ambientale e sociale nell'Amazzonia brasiliana. Le sue opere sono state esposte in gallerie internazionali, a Parigi, Londra, Roma. Ha vinto il premio fotogiornalistico Carmignac e il World Understanding Award al concorso Foto dell'anno dell'Internazionale. I suoi lavori sono stati pubblicati su The Independent, The New Yorker, Time Magazine e National Geographic. Tommaso Protti is a photographer, committed to long-term photographic projects. In 2014, he moved to Brazil, documenting the environmental and social crisis in the Brazilian Amazon. His works have been exhibited in international galleries in Paris, London, Rome. He won the Carmignac award and the World Understanding Award in the Photo of the Year competition of Internazionale magazine. His work has been published by The Independent, The New Yorker, Time Magazine and National Geographic.

Valentina Tomirotti, conosciuta anche come la “Pepitosa”, è giornalista pubblicista e si occupa di comunicazione in ambiti lavorativi differenti, come istituzioni pubbliche, associazioni, cooperative e aziende. È autrice di “Un altro (d)anno” e della 1a “Guida turistica accessibile di Mantova e provincia”, ma è anche blogger e attivista sul tema dell’accessibilità e non solo. Valentina Tomirotti, also known as "Pepitosa", is a freelance journalist and has been working in the field of in several environments such as public institutions, associations, cooperatives and companies. She is the author of "Un altro (d)anno" and of the "1st Accessible Tourist Guide for Mantova and its province", as well as being a blogger and activist on the subject of accessibility and more.
