In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TED Talks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized. (Subject to certain rules and regulations.)
TEDxNJC is an opportunity for the college and the community to come together and become connected, engaged and enlightened. Smaller towns tend to be overlooked in a lot of important ways, and TEDxNJC is a way to not only provide an experience, but to also to provide insight into the diversity within smaller communities. In hopes of exposing the beautiful tapestry of what lies Between the Lines, which is also the event theme.
The event will showcase speakers and performers sharing up to 18 minutes of themselves in order to align with TED’s major goal of spreading ideas. TEDxNJC will take place on Northeastern Junior College’s campus at the Dorothy Corsberg Theater.
The presenters will begin at 1pm on April 25th 2020.
