Albin Johnsén
Albin Johnsén was born on July the 22nd 1989 in Boo, Nacka, a scenic suburb of Stockholm. He had a huge breakthrough in 2014, after releasing “Din Soldat” (“Your Soldier”) featuring Kristin Amparo. The song was an amazing hit, and the most played song on Spotify that year. Albin released his debut album “Dyra Tårar” (“Expensive Tears”) and rigorously toured around Sweden. His music has been streamed over 90 million times on Spotify. During 2017 Albin has released new music from the upcoming album that will be launched in 2018, among them the gold selling song “Tack För Idag”, “Flyg” and “Om Du Bara Visste” (”If You Only Knew”).
Elina Berglund
Dr. Elina Berglund is the CTO and co-founder of Natural Cycles – the fertility app which allows women to help prevent, plan and monitor pregnancies.
As a top physicist, Elina was part of the team that discovered the Higgs boson at the CERN laboratory in Switzerland. Following this success, Elina and her husband were looking for an effective natural contraceptive.
With a desire to avoid the side effects of the pill, Elina decided to apply her mathematical skills from particle physics to create a unique algorithm that could accurately pinpoint when a woman was fertile – and this was turned into an app so all couples could benefit from the innovation.
Elina will explain how deeper understanding and data study not only can lead to discoveries in scientific research, but also empower individuals.
Eva Jarlsdotter
Ever since she was a little child Eva Jarlsdotter wished to contribute to a more just and sustainable world. She began her career as a journalist in daily press and national news agency. After almost a decade in journalism, she left to work in global leadership roles in communications and corporate and social responsibility, in telecom and life science industry.
Summer 2011, she resigned from her position as Vice President in an international telecom company to complete a fiction trilogy she had been working on since her oldest daughter was born. At the same time her family, out of pure survival instinct, started to implement lean in their home. Today she is regarded as the pioneer to the concept lean@home and she is on the board of Social Entrepreneurship Forum. She currently works as a social entrepreneur, author, advisor and speaker.
Håkan Lidbo
Håkan Lidbo is the founder of the studio Rumtiden in Stockholm. There he and other multi-talented people create new concepts within interactive art, music, food, beverages, design, apps, web, film, events, games and robotics. So far Håkan has developed several hundred projects within these themes and frequently presents his concepts on fairs around the world. Håkan also has a track record of releasing over 350 music albums, with music stretching from musical mashups to sonic experiments.
In addition to the art projects, Håkan and his team helps groups and companies to become more creative, through interactive and fun ways to collaborate and through challenging conventional thinking. Håkan himself is a strong believer that imagination can be trained, something that everyone could and should do.
Joel Hellermark
Joel Hellermark is the founder and CEO of Sana which is an artificial intelligence company that applies recent breakthroughs in deep learning to personalise education. The Sana team is made up of engineers and scientists with backgrounds ranging from Imperial College and CERN to Google and Spotify.
Working with the world's largest education companies, Sana is improving the function of an entire, $5 trillion industry that directly affects hundreds of millions of people’s lives every day. Personalising online courses based on how the student learns, what they’ve already mastered, and what works best for similar students.
Through online Stanford courses, Joel taught himself to code in C at age 13 and went on to found his first company, developing a technology for video recommendations, at 16. While a senior in high school, Joel developed the initial Sana algorithm and went on to raise $1M in funding from some of Europe's most prominent investors.
Lisa Gunnarsson
Lisa Gunnarsson joined LinkedIn in March 2015 as Head of LinkedIn Nordics. Lisa is responsible for defining and implementing the strategy for the Nordic region, together with managing and building the LinkedIn team.
Lisa has a proven track record in leadership, sales and talent management, and has been leading a variety of different teams since the age of 23.
Outside her LinkedIn life, she is an active mother of four who loves outdoor adventures and travelling the world.
Michele Benincaso
Michele Benincaso is the founder and CEO of the Stockholm-based music technology startup Mind Music Labs, a company developing an innovative 'music operating system' for smart musical instruments. He is a world-class luthier who studied traditional violin making techniques at the Antonio Stradivari school in Cremona, Italy, and for more than ten years has crafted custom electric guitars and basses for international artists in his Stockholm workshop.
A professional musician himself, Michele studied classical double bass and has played electric bass professionally in studio sessions and live performances for many years. He was also an early adopter of electronic music production techniques, creating loops using Steinberg's Cubase software on an Atari PC to accompany live musicians on both recordings and live shows.
Smith & Thell
Maria Jane Smith and Victor Thell, collectively known as Smith & Thell, met one another as young teenagers at a local music event in their hometown of Helsingborg in Southern Sweden. Since then, they have spent their time establishing themselves as one of Sweden's most sought after songwriter and producer combos. They have contributed as writers on songs for major label artists that have combined to be streamed over 250,000,000 times already (in Scandinavia alone).
Stefan Erlandsson
In his day job as Business Development Manager for Swedish fashion company Bjorn Borg, TEDxStockholm Lighthouse speaker Stefan Erlandsson might not face so many dangers, but after hours and whenever he can get away he likes to spend his time on extreme sports and adventures.
Stefan has climbed mountains in Russia, run ultra-marathons up to 160km, competed in an Ironman Triathlon — 3.86 km swim, a 180.25 km bicycle ride and a 42.20 km marathon run, one after another without a break – and paddled 200km in a kayak in a single non-stop run.
