Beth Norman-Walker

Beth is a seventeen year old student at SWPS (Sir William Perkins's school) who has always been passionate about sport. In fact, she is passionate about lots of things,and this talk crackles with her enthusiasm and determination, whatever life throws at you.

Chris Bore

Dr Chris Bore is an expert in the mathematics of communication, and an enthusiastic explorer of its more unlikely applications. Chris is particularly interested in numbers, number systems and codes - their meaning, interpretation and limitations. Specialised in presenting and explaining complex technical information in practical, understandable ways, Chris has designed and presented courses on communication theory to many hundreds of engineers, programmers and technical managers in diverse industries worldwide, and is the author of best-selling eBooks on the topic. Chris is fascinated by the questions that don’t get asked, and firmly believes that real experts know that they don’t know some things.

Clive Husselbury

Clive Husselbury, a Fellow of the Institute of Materials, Minerals & Mining, is a Chartered Engineer and Metallurgist/Materials Scientist who has spent over 35 years in the materials industries spanning metals, plastics and building products; working variously for manufacturers, distributors and users. Clive has held roles including Technical Sales, Sales Management, Export Sales, Marketing, and General Management with companies in the UK and overseas. For the last 12+ years Clive has run his own consultancy business, Beans Ltd, providing technical training and technical marketing services to a range of businesses. In addition he runs a small cookware business, specialising in the import of products for food smoking.

Deborah Gellner

Deborah Gellner is a solicitor with over 25 years’ experience acting for the dispossessed and marginalised. This has included the homeless, the mentally ill and impoverished migrants of various types. She currently works for a small legal charity, the Asylum Support Appeals Project, which provides representation at Tribunal appeal hearings for destitute asylum seekers who are refused support. She has also completed a Masters in Migration Studies and taught law at Sussex University, and writes regularly on migrant support law for Legal Action magazine.

Emily Peyton

Emily Peyton is a 12 year old studying at SWPS (Sir William Perkins's School.) She particularly enjoys learning maths, languages and religious studies. In her spare time Emily enjoys playing hockey competitively, as well as painting and playing the guitar and piano. Emily has a great interest in current social issues and the effects they have on us all.

Gillie Stoneham

Gillie Stoneham is a voice therapist and voice coach, and has worked for many years, both clinically in the field of gender identity and with professional voice users. Her work draws on her own passion for both singing and spoken voice and understanding the power of voice in expressing emotion and identity.

Talay Namintraporn

Talay is a 15 year old student at SWPS (Sir William Perkins's School) and has been fascinated by insects for as long as she can remember. She loves the natural world and is rearing numerous species of stick and leaf insects at home, but her main interest is beetles. She have been volunteering in the Coleoptera department of the Natural History Museum in London and belongs to the Amateur Entomologists Society, Phasmid Study Group and Surrey Wildlife Trust and recently took part in the final of the Big Bang Science Fair with an exhibit of ‘My Entomological Experiences’.
