Amber Fletcher

Dr. Amber Fletcher is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Sociology and Social Studies, University of Regina. Her research examines how climate change and major policy changes affect women in agriculture. Dr. Fletcher’s research has been published in international peer-reviewed journals and books. She is a member of the United Nations World Water Assessment Programme’s international working group on gender and water indicators, and has served as an official delegate to the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women. Dr. Fletcher holds two medals from the Governor General of Canada for her research and community work on gender equality.

Andrew Rathwell

Andrew Rathwell is a Mad Man who got mad about the state of the food system and decided to do something about it. After twenty years in the public persuasion business as a journalist and an advertising agency owner, Rathwell decided to “sell it all” and plant a seed in the ground to build a better local food network. A passionate entrepreneur and former Regina and District Chamber of Commerce President, Rathwell is breaking the mould of what local food looks like. In the face of growing consolidation and corporate control of our food system, Andrew is passionate about taking both an innovative and ancient approach to improving the choice, convenience and quality of the food on your table.

Chris Street

Dr. Chris Street is based in Regina and teaches entrepreneurship and negotiation courses in the Levene Graduate School of Business at the University of Regina. Dr. Street combines a technical background as a software programmer with practical experience as a speaker and advisor on innovation and new product development. Chris completed his PhD at Queens School of Business in Kingston, Ontario, recognized internationally as one of the top business schools by BusinessWeek, Macleans, and others. In addition to teaching, Chris splits his time with speaking engagements, advising, and providing professional development seminars on topics related to innovation, product development, and negotiation skills. He writes extensively on these topics and has been successfully involved with advising several winning applicants to the Saskatchewan-based Progress2Capital new venture competition.

Jeff Dudar

For the past 15 years, Jeff Dudar has worked from grassroots to government organizations in a variety of community development and capacity building roles. Currently, he is the manager of Community-Partner Services with the Saskatchewan Ministry of Justice. Jeff earned his Master of Arts in Sociology from the University of Regina in 2009. His thesis is titled “Alone in a Crowd: An Ethnography of the Development and Maintenance of Community Among Bingo Players.” Jeff lives in Regina, Saskatchewan with his wife and two kids, where he continues to be interested in exploring the existence of communities within and among us.

Jennifer Barrett

Jennifer Barrett is an Urban Planner who has worked for private, non-profit and public sectors. Her work has included housing policy, economic development and sustainable growth policies to enhance neighbourhoods for liveability and social inclusivity. Jennifer has worked in cities throughout Canada and U.S. including New York, Philadelphia, Montreal, and Regina. In 2012, Jennifer and her husband, Christopher Kailing, won the Morph My City: Greenfield Prize at the National Infrastructure Conference in Regina, SK for their planning design of a new neighbourhood.

Stephen Hall

Stephen spent 13 years in the Science Centre community designing exhibits and programs for the Ontario and the Saskatchewan Science Centre; 18 years as a television director creating TV shows for CBC, HGTV and the W Network; and six years as a creative director at Brown Communications Group in Regina. His current clients include SaskPower and Saskatchewan Health. Stephen’s professional passions are evenly divided between design and storytelling. He is fascinated by the creative process, and is a compulsive storyteller. Stephen lives in Regina with his wife, Laurie and their daughters, Amelia and Nellie.
