In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

AVIPSA PRASAI

IT Student /Advocate for Women's and Youth Empowerment
Ms. Prasai is an IT student and advocate dedicated to empowering women and youth through tech-driven social service. Her innovative projects have led to transformative changes in her community. One notable initiative is equipping young girls with self-defense skills, fostering their safety and confidence. Another impactful project involves upcycling jeans, with proceeds funding clean drinking water in rural Nepal and health camps. She has moderated webinars on critical issues, leveraging her ICT expertise to amplify her impact. Her collaboration with Geneva University on a documentary exploring the social impacts of infertility showcases her diverse engagement. As an elected member of the Standing Committee UN and Projects for BPW International, Avipsa's leadership and advocacy are recognized globally. Her entrepreneurial spirit is evident through her brand Lezlaj, which promotes sustainable fashion and empowers women by utilizing natural fibers.

AYUSH SUBEDI

Data Scientist / Lecturer / Technologist / Building Code For Nepal
Mr. Subedi is an accomplished data scientist with over 12 years of experience, currently leading initiatives at Code For Nepal. As a dedicated advocate for the role of data in Nepal’s economic advancement, Ayush aims to harness globalization and remote work opportunities to empower Nepali individuals. His expertise in human-in-the-loop machine learning and research drives his commitment to advancing data science education throughout Nepal. In his role as Staff Data Scientist, Ayush spearheads R&D and data science efforts, focusing on statistical modeling, machine learning, mathematical optimization, and experimentation. Previously, Ayush served as a lecturer in Business Intelligence at different Universities in Nepal and worked as a data scientist at the World Bank and Correlation One. He holds a Master’s degree in Machine Learning from the Georgia Institute of Technology. Ayush is passionate about establishing Nepal as a prominent hub for data professionals.

BIRAJ GAUTAM

Renewable Energy, Technology Transfer, Community Development, Sustainability. Promoting Renewable Energy Technology services for livelihood and climate action
Mr. Gautam is a dedicated professional specializing in Renewable Energy, Technology Transfer, Community Development, and Sustainability. He is committed to promoting renewable energy technology services for livelihood enhancement and climate action. Mr. Gautam brings a wealth of experience in various leadership roles. He serves as a Board Representative for the Hydro Empowerment Network (HPNET) and volunteers for various social initiatives. Currently, he is the Chief Executive Officer at the People, Energy, and Environment Development Association (PEEDA). His previous roles at PEEDA include serving as an Environmental Manager. Through his extensive experience and dedication, Mr. Gautam continues to advance renewable energy solutions and sustainable development initiatives.

MAHESH PAUDYAL

Assistant Professor at Tribhuvan University, Critic, Poet, Fiction Writer, Lyricist, Translator
Mr.Paudyal is an Assistant Professor at the Central Department of English, Tribhuvan University. Also known as a critic, poet, fiction writer, lyricist and translator, Paudyal has authored six collections of stories entitled Little Masters, They Didn’t Return, Anamik Yatree, Tyaspachhi Phulena Godawari, Aparichit Anuhar, School Chhuteko Din and Of Walls and Pigeons, poetry collections Sunya Praharko Sakshi and Notes of Silent Times, and the novel Tadi Kinarko Geet. Also a well-recognized translator, his seminal translations include Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s Prison Notes and Unfinished Memoirs, three diaries of BP Koirala, Krishna Dhara basi’s Radha, the total number going over fifty. Paudyal is a recipient of several academic and literary awards including Rebita Devi Memorial Gold Medal, Acharya Narendra Mani Dixit Gold Medal, Nepal Vidhyabhushan,Bimal Gurung Literary Award, Prasiddha Kandel Youth Literary Award, Sudish Niraula Youth Literary Award, Banita Literary Award, and more.

SANTOSH POUDEL

Garbage man, Waste Entrepreneur, Climate Change, Healthcare Waste Management
Mr. Poudel has devoted 13 years to the journey of waste entrepreneurship, passionately adding small bricks to the vision of a Clean Nepal and Healthy Nepali. He is the Founder of Waste Service and has also served as the CEO of Pokhara Waste Management. In addition, he established the Waste Management Enterprise, significantly contributing to the waste management sector. His exemplary work has been recognized globally, evidenced by his winning of the prestigious Sankalp Global Awards in 2020. Mr. Poudel is an alumni of several esteemed programs, including the US State Department's Community Solution Program in 2015 and the YES Course in Switzerland by my climate in 2015. He has shared his expertise on international platforms, being a speaker at the UN Global STI Forum in 2018 and the Global Solution Summit in 2018.Through his professional experience and global engagements, Mr. Poudel continues to drive forward the cause of effective waste management and environmental sustainability.
