Theme: Refashioning the Elementary

TEDxFISAT 2024 is a full-day event curated by the students and faculty of the Federal Institute of Science And Technology (FISAT) in Angamaly, India. Taking place on April 16th, the event centers around the theme "Refashioning the Elementary." This independently organized TED event brings together forward-thinking minds to explore powerful ideas that redefine the fundamentals of our world. Through a series of thought-provoking talks by 9 inspiring speakers, TEDxFISAT 2024 challenges conventional perspectives, encourages innovation, and sparks meaningful conversations that transcend both time and space.

Anju Joseph

Anju Joseph, a prominent figure in the realm of Indian playback singing within Malayalam cinema, embarked on her illustrious career with her debut as a playback singer in the 2011 Malayalam movie "Doctor Love." Since then, she has carved a niche for herself in the industry with her soulful renditions and versatile vocal prowess. Notably, her participation in “Gandharva Sangeetham” further solidified her position as a formidable force in the music scene. Throughout her journey, she has lent her enchanting voice to several notable films such as "Alamara," "Avarude Raavukal," and "Ormakalil Oru Manjukaalam," leaving an indelible mark with each melodious performance. Anju Joseph stands as a beacon of inspiration for aspiring artists and music enthusiasts alike.

Dhanya Ravi

Dhanya Ravi, also known as India’s glass woman, is born with a rare genetic disease called Osteogenesis Imperfecta (OI). Dhanya is a recipient of multiple State and National awards. As part of her work as an executive for EnAble India, Dhanya has addressed more than 7,000 people globally and has been contributing to the disability sector for more than a decade. She has inspired many differently abled people to improve their lives and careers. Currently, she is active in mobilization and sensitization for OI, rare diseases, and the disability community individually and in collaboration with different non-profit organizations (NGOs) in India and the USA. She advocates for a more inclusive society and strives to raise awareness about rare genetic conditions. Dhanya is also one of the founder trustees of an in-house NGO, Aasmaan Foundation Trust, and volunteers audio reading for persons with visual impairments.

Harith Noah

Harith Noah is a multi-talented individual, excelling as a professional motorsport athlete. Harith represents India in international cross-country rallies, including the prestigious Dakar Rally. With an illustrious career in motorsports, Harith has clinched numerous titles, including being the third rider from India to successfully finish the Dakar Rally and the fastest from the country. His remarkable victory at the 46th Dakar Rally in 2024 marked a historic moment for Indian motorsports.

RJ Mike

RJ Mike is one of the most popular names on FM Radio in Kerala. An engineer turned radio jockey, he started his journey as a VJ in Surya Music and has paved his way towards RED FM. Mike shot to fame with his signature style and witty questions, which helped make his show ‘Red Carpet’ gain much popularity. Initially an engineer pursuing a technically-oriented career, RJ Mike realized his calling lay elsewhere. He ventured into the media segment, quickly becoming a fan favorite due to his spontaneity and lively attitude.

Sachin Samson

Sachin Samson is a highly versatile and accomplished multidisciplinary artist hailing from India. Solomon John is the Head of the Department, School of Professional Development at DePaul Institute of Science and Technology. He holds a postgraduate degree in English Language and Literature and has been working as a professional educator since 2017. He is a youthful, enthusiastic and qualified trainer with seven years of expertise in educating people, educational institutions and business companies. He is also a two-time Gold Medal Certificate recipient in IIM Kanpur’s NPTEL SWAYAM courses.
