In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Manas Joshi

Student
Manas Joshi is a sophomore at Johns Hopkins University who took an unexpected 16 month break from school and spent that time volunteering at Akshardham, a Hindu house of worship. Through his experience and the unique stories of his fellow volunteers, Manas will explore the power of selfless service and the transformational nature of volunteering.

Natalie is a senior at Johns Hopkins University. She will be speaking about how her experience as a child of immigrants has informed her political advocacy at Hopkins. She will highlight the importance of student involvement and action.

Sterling Wilmer

Psychiatric Nurse
Sterling's talk focuses on her journey to discover what resiliency is really about. She will recount the hardships and support she received on her path to become a psychiatric nurse at Johns Hopkins University Hospital and reflect on the role of community in fostering resiliency.
