In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Hussain Elius

Hussain M Elius, CEO of Wind.App and former CEO of Pathao, is a trailblazer in the tech and startup ecosystem. Co-founding Pathao, Bangladesh’s leading ride-sharing and logistics platform, Elius transformed the local tech landscape, expanding Pathao to serve five million riders across multiple cities in Bangladesh and Nepal, raising over $12.8 million in funding. Elius’s entrepreneurial journey began with a vision to create a "super app" for Bangladesh, inspired by successful models like Indonesia's Go-Jek. His work with Pathao not only transformed transportation and logistics but also set a benchmark for technology-driven startups in the country. Elius inspires the next generation of entrepreneurs to view challenges as opportunities and encourages them to take bold risks. He emphasizes the potential of the country’s youthful population and the critical need for entrepreneurs to either globalize local businesses or localize global solutions. Salman Beg

Mirza Salman Hossain Beg is an entrepreneur, startup advisor, investor, and distinguished business leader with over a decade of experience in driving innovation and growth. His career has been marked by a strong focus on strategic leadership, innovation, and community-driven initiatives. Salman has held significant roles at major companies, such as Telenor Thailand, where he served as Vice President and Head of Innovation, and Grameenphone in Bangladesh, where he was Head of Digital Channels. At Grameenphone, he led a comprehensive digital transformation, creating MyGP, the country's largest telecom self-care app, and revolutionizing digital distribution channels. Beyond his corporate roles, Salman has significantly contributed to the startup ecosystem. He served as an advisor and board director at 10 Minute School, Bangladesh’s largest edTech startup, playing a critical role in securing $2 million in seed funding from Sequoia Capital India. His entrepreneurial spirit is further reflected in his investment portfolio, which includes over 50 startups across various sectors, demonstrating his deep commitment to fostering innovation and growth. Salman is also deeply engaged in community and social impact initiatives. He co-founded Google Business Groups in Bangladesh to help build a robust startup ecosystem. As the founding vice curator of the World Economic Forum’s Global Shapers Dhaka Hub, he has consistently promoted a positive narrative for Bangladesh on the global stage.
