In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Emma Hasson

Master's student
Emma Hasson is excited to share the magical and exploratory nature of math with you in The Magic of Math: Bringing Everyone to the Table. Emma is a graduate student in mathematics who researches math communication around the world with an emphasis on creative teaching methods and solutions. This talk will center on Emma’s own creative solution—merging the world of tabletop role playing games with the world of mathematics—and challenge everything you thought you knew about doing math.

Jolecia Saunderson

Student
Jolecia Saunderson is a senior at Brandeis University studying African and African American Studies, Politics, and Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies. Born and raised in Brooklyn, NY as an artist and advocate, she is passionate about social policy, activism, hair, and educational justice. On campus she has been involved in community service, served as a community (residential advisor), an undergraduate departmental representative for African and African American Studies, and created her own club dedicated towards Black hair on campus called The Multicultural Hair, Art, and Empowerment Club. In her free time, she enjoys writing poetry, spoken word, art, Marvel movies, TED Talks, and dance.

Kumba Sennaar

PhD Candidate
Kumba Sennaar is a PhD candidate in Social Policy at Brandeis University and founder of William Kelly Consulting. Her research interests include maternal health disparities and ethical use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in healthcare. Sennaar earned an M.A. in Social Policy from Brandeis, M.S. in Biotechnology from Johns Hopkins University and a B.S. with honors from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, in Science, Technology & Society (STS). Her articles on applications of AI have been cited by consulting firms and by journals including the Boston University Law Review, Fordham Urban Law Journal and the Harvard Data Science Review.

Rolonda Donelson

Lawyer
Rolonda Donelson is an attorney and Fellow at the National Health Law Program(NHeLP) and the O’Neill Institute for National and Global Health Law through the Maeve McKean Women’s Law & Public Policy Fellowship Program. Through this fellowship she applies a reproductive justice lens to advocate for equitable access to sexual and reproductive health care services for all individuals. She is passionate about movement lawyering and centering the voices of directly impacted communities. Although she currently engages in policy work, she has previously provided direct-client services through participation in her law school’s Gender Justice Clinic and internship at an immigration legal series organization. Rolonda holds a Bachelors degree with dual majors in Politics and International & Global Studies (IGS) from Brandeis University and a J.D. from the American University Washington College of Law.

Samantha Brody

Student
Samantha Brody, a senior at Brandeis University, is a passionate student leader and educator. She has found joy in serving in local and international roles beginning at age 14 and continuing to the present day. Today, she serves as the Co-Chair of the Hillel International Student Cabinet, a role in which she works to raise up Jewish student voices worldwide. Samantha is deeply passionate about helping everyone discover their leadership strengths and empowering them to make an impact on the world.
