As a 15-year-old fascinated by the biotechnology of our time, I find it essential that we view scientific progress with the optimism it is due. Thus, I hope to convince you of the vast benefits of advancing longevity treatments, despite the controversy that historically surrounds them.

I've lived with my brother Mateo for most of my life, which used to be a huge struggle due to his ADHD. Throughout our childhood, most of my parents attention revolved around him. This made me grow up resentful of both my brother and my family, as I grew to be on the sidelines to make more room for my brother. I delve on the subject of "Glass Children" and how they live their childhood and how their struggles are often overshadowed. My TED Talk aims to share my own experience growing up a Glass Child, the struggles I faced but most importantly how I overcame them. It aims to make people relate or to show unknowing audience members how their struggles are not only valid, but overcomable.

As a 14-year-old boy, throughout my life, I have been captivated by innovative technologies that leverage scientific research to transform the world into a more suitable environment for all entities dwelling within. Ever since I was a toddler, upon witnessing a delightful panorama of the vast Pacific Ocean and acknowledging the abundance of seawater, I dreamed of developing a salt-powered vehicle, capable of performing long-range human transportation; thereby, prompting a substantial decrease in carbon emissions derived from the automotive industry. This endeavor, which aimed to combat global warming, incited the effectuation of my research and the institution of a scaled, saltwater-based automobile. The process of exposure thereof culminated in the TEDx talk I delivered in early September 2023.

I am currently 16 years of age, and am half Colombian and half Danish. I have had the privilege of living in four different countries, them being; Colombia, Austria, Peru and Mexico. Studying at the American School Foundation, I have learnt that law is my passion, nevertheless, my Ted Talk is incredibly personal as being a polyglot has altered my conceptual understanding of the world.

As a Mexican girl, I grew up as a people pleaser, fearing perceptions of selfishness. Constant agreement destroyed my personality, making me nearly invisible in groups. At 15, studying abroad in Canada pushed me beyond my comfort zone, liberating me from concern about others' opinions. Ironically, embracing authenticity led to greater appreciation. In my TED talk, I'll delve into the teenage dilemma of pleasing versus selfishness, now asserting that positive selfishness adds value to society. I look forward to reshaping perceptions and emphasizing the need to redefine selfishness positively, recognizing its role in fostering diverse perspectives and solutions.

Throughout my life, I've experienced many changes such as moving between three different countries, a global pandemic, and the regular changes that come with being a teenager. While experiencing these, ballet has always remained a constant in my life, for which it has become one of the most important parts of my life, especially as a result of all the time and effort that I put into it. Despite the extreme effort that it requires, however, I've faced criticism from people in my life regarding the athleticism behind it. My TED talk aims to provide a new perspective of ballet, as well as encourage the audience to continue following their passions, regardless of outside validation.

Adrenaline has always been a constant factor that predominates my everyday life. However, its impact on me revealed a struggle to respond effectively in unexpected, intense situations. It became strikingly clear when a dear friend faced a life-and-death situation, in which I was unable to respond accordingly and resulted in me freezing. My TED talk aims to shed light on the three primary responses our bodies undergo when flooded with adrenaline: the fight, flight, and freeze reactions. It seeks to delve into transforming these reactions into a mindset termed 'Rest and Digest', with the goal of understanding that we hold the power of our actions and emotions if we learn how to be adrenalines friend rather than it's enemy.

I am 17 year old man living in Mexico City who currently studies at the American School Foundation; and traced the courage to to a Ted Talk after being inspired to make a change and make and effect on people's perspectives. In my Ted Talk I look to explore the beneath the surface benefits that actually come with the viewership of sports, and how these factors can positively influence aspects of life that don't even seem to be.
