In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Brian Ahearn

Cited Psychogolist
Brian Ahearn is an international speaker, coach, and consultant who specializes in applying the science of influence in everyday situations. He is one of only a dozen individuals in the world who currently holds the Cialdini Method Certified Trainer designation and one of just a handful to have earned the Cialdini Pre-suasion Trainer designation. These specializations in the psychology of persuasion were earned directly from Robert Cialdini, Ph.D., the most cited living social psychologist on the science of influence. Brian has authored three books including Influence PEOPLE, which was named one of the Top 100 Influence Books of All Time by Book Authority. His LinkedIn Learning courses on how to apply influence in sales and coaching have been viewed by more than 500,000 people around the world. Brian and his wife Jane have been married for 35 years and they have a daughter, Abigail, who is an American Sign Language Interpreter.

Dr. Brianna Davis Johnson is a diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) leader, speaker, and facilitator dedicated to making organizations and communities places where everyone can thrive. She leads DEI efforts in colleges and universities of various sizes and types, nonprofit organizations, and local communities. As a scholar, her research examines how DEI initiatives are advanced within universities and how organizational policies and practices can hamper them, and she has published on various DEI topics in higher education. She holds a Ph.D. from the University of Texas at Austin, an M.S. from Northwestern University, and a B.A. from Washington University in St. Louis.

Brittany, known as a Teacher of Love, had been working in the Healthcare industry for over 10 years and decided to take a chance and explore new paths that led her on her healing journey. Brittany began studying various approaches to healing including Ancestral Trauma, Somatic Experiencing®, Psychology, Quantum Energetics, and Eastern Medicine among many others. Lee-Minor is an executive known for building brands and crafting product narratives. She's a brand advocate with expertise in product processes, customer experiences, and recruitment. She's the founder and CEO of Bumbershoot, a consulting firm providing cultural insights to transform business cultures for inclusivity and community empowerment. Bumbershoot supports women and people of color with career acceleration. Lee-Minor's international experience includes leadership roles at Footlocker Global, London Fog, Joe Boxer, and Lbrands. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Temple University and an Executive Certificate in Leadership and Management from The Wharton School. She's currently enrolled in Stanford University's Inclusive Leadership program.

Phillip and Annebella Burton Boone

Philip Burton Boone is a first-year student at Olentangy Berlin High School in Ohio. He's the vice president of the Multilingual Club, and participates in Tabletop Club, Quizbowl team, volleyball, club soccer, and the school's ski club. He lived in France and is fluent in French. Philip loves spending time outdoors playing sports and connecting with nature. Annabella Burton Boone is a junior at Olentangy Berlin High School, known for her leadership and passion for environmental conservation. She is the president of the Multilingual and Composers Club, officer of the Student Association for Cultural Awareness, Letters for Rose, and Mythology Club. Annabella was on tennis and sailing teams and is currently on the varsity wrestling team. She's a member of various clubs, including the Environmental Club, National Honor Society, Class Cabinet, and Student Council. Annabella loves playing musical instruments, being outdoors, traveling, and advocating for environmental conservation.

Sandra Reed

Highschool Teacher
Sandy Reed is best known locally as a school teacher. She has been teaching science for 35 years, 20 of which have been spent with New Albany Schools in Ohio where she is currently the district's STEM K-12 teacher. After graduating from The Ohio State University, she went on to earn her master degree from Ashland University. She has received several teaching awards in her career, the latest being the Ohio Environmental Education Award for Best Practices in 2016, and before that, the National Outstanding Green Educator Award in 2014. She is a certified National Geographic Educator, has represented the state of Ohio as a National Geographic Inquiry Ambassador and just this spring National Geographic announced her selection as a National Geographic Grosvenor Fellow and will be sending her to Antarctica with other teachers and scientists as an Educator Explorer later this year.

Scott Gaudi

Professor. Gaudi, an Ohio State faculty member since 2006, leads the discovery and characterization of extrasolar planets through various methods. He announced the first Jupiter/Saturn analog discovery in 2008 and is deeply involved in assessing current and future survey potential to determine exoplanet demographics. Additionally, he's a member of NASA's WFIRST team and the chair-elect for the Exoplanet Exploration Analysis Group. Widely recognized, he's received multiple awards, including the Helen B. Warner Prize and the NASA Outstanding Public Leadership Medal.
