In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Beth Thomas

Athlete
I was born to move. Started swimming at 2 and at 3 took my first hike 1/4 to join the children I heard playing outside at a nearby nursery school. I rode my bike or walked all over the small New England town I grew up in. Hiked the Milford Track in New Zealand, hiked the Grand Canyon rim to rim, mountain climbed, scuba dived, and did triathlons all after age 60. Was in the travel business both business and sports vacations including leading a group of 48 divers to Cuba in the mid 90's long before it opened to visitors again. I was Executive Director of a nonprofit for at-risk you in Tucson, AZ after I move out of NYC. Have two fabulous sons and 5 grandchildren. I am committed to individual wellness, energy, and vitality and that we all live healthy lifestyles. I continue to walk every day and am now 80 and have been doing triathlons for over a decade.

Danny Goldberg

Serial Entrepreneur, Speaker, Podcast Host
Danny is a life-long entrepreneur, turned professional speaker. His perspective on life has been greatly shaped by two moments: When he was 20, he lost his dad to cancer. When he was 25, he lost his mom to cancer. Those losses, as devastating as they were, taught him the biggest lesson: how to have a life worth living. He stopped waiting for someday and chose to live the life he wanted every day. It's his mission to help you do the same. Embrace your life now. Don't wait for the day when it seems possible - that day will never come. Learn from his mistakes, his triumphs, and his life - the time to live courageously is now. Through Keynote Speaking, he aims to help others envision and embrace their "someday life" before "someday" passes them by.
