In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Hristo is originally from the US and has always struggled with learning the Bulgarian language. However, through his experience, he not only developed a better grasp of Bulgarian, but also learned the importance of preserving indigenous knowledge such as language and culture. Nina Al Rifai

Nina Al Rifai is 38 years old; she was born in Syria. She started her journey as a Special Olympics athlete there, and after moving to Bulgaria she continued her involvement with Special Olympics in the Bulgarian Team. She is a talanted and passionate photographer; her Damascus photograph collection is definitely worth checking out. Besides swimming, which she competes in, she also greatly enjoys basketball and horse riding.

Radka Gencheva

Radka, more commonly known as Ms. Gencheva, is a math teacher with more than two decades of experience. She loves looking at math from the perspective of the outside world to make it accessible to her students.

Ray Vajarov

Ray has always been fascinated with psychology—the art of picking apart the human mind, then reassembling it after you’ve studied the individual pieces. Another passion of his is writing, creating universes through his thoughts and tugging people along for the journey.

Victor Hristov

Victor Hristov is 40 years old and represents the athletes at Special Olympics Bulgaria board. He has always been enthusiastic about sports, and likes to share that passion with everyone. Sports have given him the opportunity to travel, to participate, to win, and to make friends. He dedicates his achievements to the women in his life - his deceased mother and his loving girlfriend.

Viktor Mihaylov

Viktor has always loved movies. Ever since he was 5 he's spent countless hours watching and enjoying the worlds of all the amazing and inspiring characters on the big screen (of his living room). Additionally, for him, life is all about improving, learning and persevering even when life gets too hard. That is why he always look for challenges and ways to grow as a person.

Zachary Pavlov

Zach is generally all about science and discovery, his defining trait is probably his thirst for knowledge. He's also spent 3 years living in Myanmar, where he discovered Ihe likes public speaking. You'll never see him turning down a thought exercise or an interesting question.
