In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Aleš Svoboda

Backup ESA astronaut
Aleš Svoboda is a fighter pilot and a member of the ESA astronaut backup team. He flies the Gripen, but has also gained experience in a number of other aircrafts. He has a PhD in aerospace and missile engineering and is an expert in electronic warfare. He has participated in several internships abroad and was deployed to the Baltic States in 2019. Three years later, he succeeded in the largest selection of astronauts in the history of the space program.

Anna Píchová

Macroeconomic analyst
She graduated from the Faculty of Economics and Administration of Masaryk University with a specialization in economic policy. She first worked as a macroeconomic analyst, and currently leads a team of analysts and focuses mainly on macroeconomic trends, financial and stock markets and analyses of individual stock titles. She enjoys building investment awareness and financial literacy, is an investor herself and manages her own portfolio. In her spare time, she teaches yoga classes, enjoys hiking and running.

Barbora Šouláková

Psychologist and psychedelic-assisted psychotherapist
Barbora Šouláková is a psychologist. She has worked as a research project leader at the National Institute of Mental Health, focusing on the use of virtual reality and breathing techniques. Now, in addition to her private psychological practice, she works as a psychedelic-assisted psychotherapist at the Psyon clinic.

Dominik Hraboš

Pathologist at the University Hospital Olomouc
He is currently working at the Institute of Clinical and Molecular Pathology at the University Hospital Olomouc as a pathologist, lecturer and Ph.D. student in neuroscience. He specializes in an obscure part of pathology, which is neuropathology of neurodegenerative diseases. After internships abroad, he decided that he likes the Czech Republic best anyway. In his free time he tries to explain to people that a pathologist mainly helps living patients.

Jakub Klodwig

Cybersecurity and IT law specialist
Jakub Klodwig is a lawyer specializing in IT law. He works at Eldison and is also a PhD student at the Institute of Law and Technology at Masaryk University. Jakub has interned at the National Office for Cyber and Information Security (NCIS) and currently publishes, trains and teaches on ePrivacy, cybersecurity and cloud computing regulation at the Czech Cybercrime Centre of Excellence (C4e).

Jana Vítová

Mental health activist
Personality disorder is not my whole life, but a part of me that shows me how life is fleeting and how important it is to understand my own body and all the feelings inside. I like to pass on my experiences on my social media. I have two perfect dogs and together with my boyfriend we live in the Pyrenees in the south of France.

Josef Kraus

Security analyst and terrorism expert
Josef Kraus is the head of the Security and Strategic Studies programme at the Faculty of Social Studies of Masaryk University. His professional focus is on the Middle East region and topics such as Islamic radicalism, religiously motivated violence, terrorism, conflicts over resources and regional security. He regularly travels to the region of interest for field research or to local research institutions and universities.

Milan Formánek

Marketing lecturer and consultant
Milan Formánek teaches and consults on modern marketing for 500+ organizations, from non-profits to family businesses to the largest corporations. He worked at Red Bull for 14 years and ran the creative agency Zaraguza. His mission is to improve the effectiveness, ethics and aesthetics of communication, helping Czech companies achieve better results and competitiveness.
