In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Latika Nath

Latika,who earned her masters on Elephant -Human Conflict resolution and a doctorate on Tiger Conservation and Management from the University of Oxford found her calling as a Conservation Ecologist and photographer. Donning multiple hats as an author, photographer,diver and hotelier,this intrepid traveller's life and work has been featured on National Geographic Television in a documentary entitled 'Tiger Princess' and on the Discovery Channel in the program 'Wild Things'. Her stint with the BBC includes contribution to 'Sita's Story' and 'A Tale of Two Tigers'. Besides authoring two coffee table books, 'Hidden India ' and 'Omo' she has exhibited at the largest exhibition on Tiger's 'The Eye of The Tiger' at the Royal Albert Hall,London. Her notable work in wildlife photography was honoured with 'Photograph For A Cause' Award in 2019 . She has been awarded by ATOI, is a UN Karmaveer Maharatna Awardee and is a Chevening Scholar.

Prajval Shastri

Introducing our guest speaker Prajval Shastri, a celebrated astrophysicist who probes enigmatic black holes and has earned her Ph.D. from the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research. A Fulbright fellow at Stanford University, she is currently an Emeritus scientist at the Raman Research Institute and Adjunct Professor at the International Centre for Radio Astronomy Research, Australia. A faculty of the Indian Institute of Astrophysics, Bengaluru for 23 years, her strong desire to cultivate a scientific mindset and inculcated scientific outlook motivates her to interact with lay audiences of all ages. Overcoming gender inequities, she has made a mark in the field of science and is the founder and past chair of the Gender in Physics Working Group of the Indian Physics Association apart from holding important positions in various scientific committees. Her research publication on astrophysics and articles on gender inequity, science and society have been acclaimed worldwide.
