In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Adejisola Atiba

Adejisola is 2022 CAUFP Power of One Award, Queen Elizabeth II Platinum Jubilee Pin, and 2020 RBC Global Citizen. Founded Council of Nigerian Professionals Inc. -CNP (www.cnpngo.ca), and African Caribbean Council of Halton - ACCH (www.africancaribbeancouncilofhalton.com). She volunteers with CNP, ACCH, TRIEC, JA Central Ontario, Knights Table and CNOY. She is an author, and published her first book in April, 2022, Authenticity: How My Why Me Moments Shaped Life. A professional banker with multiple degrees and professional certifications, and in Banking for 30 years. A Community Manager with one of the leading banks in Canada, with progressive leadership roles for the past ten years. She supports Black girls and women through the non-profit and at work. Mentors, sponsors, ensures representation and shares financial expertise with women entrepreneurs. Lives in Ontario.

Dr. Jovonni Spinner

Dr. Jovonni Spinner is the CEO of Beacon Public Health. She is an award-winning health equity strategist and thought leader with a deep passion for improving health equity across the lifespan through research, communication, multi-sector partnerships, programming, and leadership. She believes health is a basic human right and uses her voice to support inclusive public health programs that support Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC). Growing up she saw firsthand how health inequities impacted her family and community which is where her pursuit of health equity began. She has dedicated her work towards dismantling systemic barriers by helping organizations and public health professionals deliver dynamic, equity-driven, culturally tailored public health programs that meet the health needs of BIPOC communities. “Infusing culture into health programs and policies is precisely what’s needed to improve health outcomes for BIPOC communities”, she says.

Dr. Stem Sithembile Mahlatini

Originally from Zimbabwe, Africa, Dr. Stem (Sithembile Mahlatini) is a certified life-career coach, author, licensed psychotherapist, Tv/Radio Personality and Motivational Speaker who has a passion for inspiring others to live life to their fullest potential. She is the Founder and President of The DrStem Empowerment Academy and Global Training Coaching & Consulting Services, Inc in Orlando Florida USA. She is also the author and co-author of over 40 empowerment and inspirational books. Her goal and passion is to bring HOPE (that is helping other people excel by living stress-free lives, pursuing their purpose and passion.

Maria Bradfield

Maria Bradfield is a Business and Transformational Life Coach. She is a change angel. Through her energy, enthusiasm, passion, and caring heart, she inspires others to lead fulfilling lives, thriving careers and reach new levels of performance. A two-time breast cancer survivor, Maria is committed to breast cancer awareness and co-founded a non-profit in the San Francisco Bay Area that raises money for breast cancer research, treatment, and educational programs for the local community. Maria is an international best-selling author and hosts a weekly podcast, Motivational Moments with Maria. Maria’s greatest joy in life is spending time with family and friends and encouraging growth in others.

Sanchia Miller

Sanchia is a former Lawyer turned Property Entrepreneur and owner of a thriving Property Management company. She took the leap from the world of corporate to the world of property in 2018. For her clients, she transforms properties from bland to beautiful, creating profitable cash flowing assets. Sanchia is a firm believer that it is imperative for us all to push the parameters and step out of our comfort zones for the betterment of our lives and the lives of others. Since starting her business, Sanchia has helped Entrepreneurs to leap out of their comfort zones and get started in property.

Shayle Graham

Shayle Graham is a teacher activist and education equity consultant, working to build more equitable classrooms, schools, and boards across Canada. Versed in anti-racism, anti-Black racism, and anti-oppressive practice, Shayle has over a decade of experience working with educators, system leaders, community partners, and institutions to address and remedy the impacts of inequity on Black and racialized students. Shayle’s ground-breaking work includes developing a curriculum and pedagogical framework for Toronto’s first Afrocentric Alternative School; serving as the inaugural coaching staff at Canada’s first publicly funded Center of Excellence for Black Student Achievement; and founding Black E.S.T.E.E.M., Canada’s first program designed to empower Black girls to be industry leaders in STEM through entrepreneurship. A sought-after thought leader on equity in education, Shayle has graced the cover of ETFO Voice, spoken on the stages of the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics, and appeared on noteworthy platforms like CBC, the Globe and Mail, and the Brandon Gonez Show.

Sonia Molodecky

Sonia is a Canadian-Ukrainian lawyer and entrepreneur who’s spent 20 years in international corporate law, human rights and community economic development. Sonia is co-founder and President of Global Indigenous Development Trust; founding Director of Mno Aki Land Trust; founder and President of Spirit Rock Resources Corp.; and founder of Condoria Productions. Having spent a decade working with Indigenous nations globally, Sonia shares her learning of ancient systems and modern ways, and our connection with life through her book “A New Human Story: A Co-Creator’s Guide to Living our True Potential”. Sonia spends her time at her home in the country where she grows her own food, forages, and interacts with the magic in nature to continually uncover her secrets.

Tierney Grayson

An emergent professional in Leadership Development, Tierney Grayson is making her mark! She holds a BA in Communication Studies, with a focus in Sales Communications, from Bowling Green State University, and an MBA with a Management & Leadership in a Rapidly Changing World focus from Alliant International University in San Diego, California. She has taken her experiences gained & lessons learned, and has a passion to help others in their journey.

Valerie Wilson

Valerie Wilson is a certified transformational speaker, coach, educator, and mentor. Her love and passion for educating and mentoring youth is seen through her commitment to ensuring kids have equitable access to the support they need for academics and in life. With over 16 years of successful teaching in public education, youth groups, and church ministry, Valerie is on a mission to serve children and their parents who suffer from high math anxiety and low self-confidence. As a result of Valerie’s ability to innovatively infuse the arts of coaching, teaching, and mentoring into her programs, students have a level of certainty they have never experienced before.
