The Youth TEDx event titled "Positive Change" will feature Colas Van Moorsel, a climate justice activist and COP26 participant, who will educate on climate change; Laila Deeb, a software engineering manager and founder of Syrian Women in Tech (SWIT), addressing sexism and connecting Syrian women engineers with the Belgian job market; and Corry Macdonald, a holistic healer, clinical hypnotherapist, art therapist, energy healer, and bestselling author, discussing mental health and leveraging heavy experiences for growth.

Colas Van Moorsel

Climate Activist
Colas Van Moorsel, a recent graduate in public relations from IHECS , has charted his career in response to a deep awareness of climate issues. His journey led him to active involvement, notably by joining the Youth for Climate movement and participating in COP26. Sensitized to the gaps in climate education for young people, Colas became involved in climate justice education by intervening in schools to provide tools and perspectives to students.

Corry Macdonald

Mental Health
Corry is a multi-modal healer known to her clients as a Soul Practitioner. She integrates the clinical and spiritual healing tools gathered over 20 years of cross-cultural living to create healing experiences that are personalized for each client based on their desires, interests and needs. Her passion and expertise lies in showing people how to leverage heavy experiences - the ultimate creative material - into wisdom, intelligence and deep joy.

Laila Deeb

Software Engineering Manager - Diversity and gender equality
As the founder of Syrian Women in Tech, she is committed to fostering diversity within the tech sector. Laila is actively involved with the Brussels Binder as a tech lead and board member, working to promote diversity and gender equality. She also does guest lecturing and public speaking on topics like AI ethics, women in tech, and diversity and inclusion. Her ambition is to continue driving innovation and promoting diversity within the tech industry. In the short term, her goal is to secure a CTO role at her company where she can lead technological advancements. In the long term, Laila envisions contributing to shaping global technology standards and policies. Her ultimate ambition is to foster an ethical and inclusive tech ecosystem that benefits all. Prior to her current role, Laila worked as a backend developer, fullstack developer, product owner and scrum master. She also taught software engineering for 5 years at a university in Syria.
