In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Raul Sharma

High School Teacher
Educated in England, he received his MRes in Metapsychology anterior to obtaining his PhD in European Philosophy. Concurrently, he authored several academic articles on a wide range of subjects, on topics such as British Romanticism and multilingual educational practises.

Wanqi Jing

Registered Dietitian Nutritionist, Certified Health Educator
Wanqi is a registered dietitian nutritionist accredited by Commission on Dietetic Registration in the U.S. With both master’s degrees in Nutrition and Health Education from Columbia University, she focuses on providing individualized diet plans to promote health as well as weight management. She has worked at a variety of settings before, including nursing home, hospital, and private practice in the U.S. She is currently working with adult women with substance use disorders at a Non-Profit Organization in NYC. She is also a private nutrition consultant specialized in weight management, nutrition therapies for chronic diseases and pregnancy / postpartum nutrition and offers 1:1 nutrition counseling for clients.

Xintong Ruan

Volunteer
Toby is a graduate of the GCGS Class of 2022 and will also be attending NYU this September. Upon opening her college application resume, you will see a list of volunteer activities (which has also become her biggest weakness at the same time). Although she knows where her weaknesses lie, Toby cannot stop contributing in disability centers, hospitals, and around the corners of the community. Because Toby know that her strengths and weaknesses complement each other, making her a more well-rounded individual.

Vertebrate palaeontology has always fascinated 7amey, ever since a very young age. He follows the latest research in the field and translate them for a wider audience, and he thinks that palaeontology is the perfect gateway to science for young people and can teach us a lot about how ecosystems change over time.

Zhouyuan Li

Military History Enthusiast
A history fan who is interested to study the history of all ages and eras. From the Greeks to the Romans, from the Tudors to the Victorians, from WWI to WWII, he loved and devoted himself from a young age to the realm of history. His particular passion lies in the history of world navies, as he dedicates himself to the study of every ship, every era, and every battle. As a scholar in love with history, he likes to share fascinating stories and details about the past with others, therefore introducing more to the beauty and joy of such a mesmerizing subject. Furthermore, he firmly believes that learning history is crucial in the establishment of a logical and critical mindset. He is tireless when discussing history with his fellow friends and teachers.
