Jumeirah College presents its fourth TEDx event. Here, speakers, flourishing in the medium of public speaking have selected specific topics to the theme of global issues, from 11-year-olds to 18-year-olds, a wide plethora of skillsets, topics and experiences will be presented at this conference. With each diverse talk, speakers aim to raise awareness for a specific branch of issues we face on a daily basis.

Aarohi Reshamiya

Student
Aarohi is a year 8 at Jumeirah College who has a deep passion for animals, this talk is truly close to her heart as she mentions to ruthlessness animals face as well as an insight in their perception of their horrific living conditions.

Aaryav Sher Randeva

12 year old Aaryav Sher Randeva is a Year 8 student at Jumeirah college in Dubai who is passtionate about public speaking. He is new to Dubai and took this speech as an opputunity to learn more about Dubai and if, and if so why, Dubai is the future of the world for both a good place to live and the future of the economy.

Aastha Reshamiya

Aastha Reshamiya talks about how crucial it is to be self-dependent. Aastha is a year 8 student at Jumeirah college. She enjoys cooking, dancing, writing poetry as well as playing the keyboard. She aspires to be a lawyer in the future and help unprivileged children. Her talk explores how important it is to be self-dependent and not doing so can come with major consequences.

Ali Abbas: The Charismatic Traveler Born in Leicester, Ali Abbas has always been a beacon of joy and charisma. At the age of 2, his family moved to the sunny shores of Bahrain. There, Ali grew up with a cheerful personality and a great sense of humor, quickly making countless friends. When he turned 12, Ali embarked on a new adventure, moving to the vibrant city of Dubai. He embraced the change with his usual positivity and charm, continuing to brighten the lives of everyone around him. Ali loves his life in the Middle East, but his heart belongs to two places. Every summer, he eagerly returns to England to visit his family, cherishing the time spent with his cousins and reliving fond memories of his birthplace. Ali Abbas: a young boy whose laughter and charm connect three worlds, bringing happiness wherever he goes.

Ann Jerry

Ann Jerry, a student in year 7 at Jumeriah College. She is an aspiring author and hopes to inspire all. She wishes to travel the world and learn about different cultures. From a young age, Ann was always interested to learn about different people. However, she already has got a taste of different cultures as she lives in Dubai. In school, she has a love for acting. Whereas when she is at home, Ann feels that writing and watercolouring is her getaway for life's problems. Whenever she gets the chance, Ann is always eager to participate in poetry competitions, plays and public speaking. Apart from public speaking and writing stories, Ann is very interested in the world problems.For example, today she is going to speak about the future of food.

Arit Mukherjee

Arit Mukherjee is a Year 8 student studying at Jumeirah College, Dubai. He has numerous passions revolving around public speaking, model united nations and debates. Arit enjoys playing the guitar, is an avid reader and likes to keep up with current world affairs. In his talk, Arit discusses a topic he takes interest in, economic inequality, while taking a look at its history and why it is detrimental to society.

Ayan Mukherjee is a Year 8 student studying at Jumeirah College, Dubai. He loves to learn about the intricacies of life and share his ideas with the world. Outside of the stage, he enjoys playing sports and is a passionate debater, another avenue for him to share his thoughts with others. In his Talk, he delves into the potent issue of digital disconnection, a rising phenomenon in an increasingly digital world, and how it leads to isolation and a less connected society as a whole.

She is passionate about Business and feminism as well as Africa.From a young age, Divine loved talking about important global issues and her TEDx talk dives into Africa's Opportunities . Although she originally wanted to be a doctor, Divine now enjoys exploring a mix of subjects, including History, Maths, and French. Besides her studies, she finds joy in reading books, Spending time with family and reading about the latest gadgets. She is a TEDx speaker and hopes to inspire positive change and brighter conversations about the world.

Inesh Mukherjee

Inesh Mukherjee, a 16-year-old student at Jumeirah College, talks about Relative poverty and why it must be addressed. After watching a documentary on poverty in England, he was inspired to read more about the subject and realised that relative poverty was such a potent issue in most countries, yet it isn't addressed enough. With his speech, he aspires to spread awareness about the subject.

Fake news does not only disrupt society, but also the economy and the deep roots of democracy. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but not their own facts. In this era of incredible news stories, deep fake, photoshop and special effects, we can’t trust anymore everything we see. You will change the way you use any form of media after you hear Mia’s talk. Why? Because you are the media. After conducting her research, Mia Ghrayeb will share some tips about how we can fight the spread of falsehood and staying well informed in this rapidly changing world.

Misha Ali

Misha Ali, 11 years old. A confident young girl who attends year 7 at Jumeirah College. Outside of school, Misha is an avid netball player and a growing public speaker. She greatly enjoys performing speeches while improving her public speaking skills and is passionate about equality and fairness. Once she learned about the revolutionary AI she pondered to her family how this marvellous human technology impacts the world around us and how we are treated. Her TedX talk delves deep into how AI can improve young, mistreated girls' lives, and she hopes her opinions and views will inspire a greater life.

Despite her school years, she is seen by family and friends as a hardworking and talented individual. With dedication and ongoing skill development, Najia aspires to find success in both photography and her dreams.

12-year-old, Riaana Malhotra, a bright young mind in year 7 at Jumeirah College.She's is a pioneer in social change. She believes that speaking up and raising our voices is the only way to fight injustice. She's a rebel with a cause, a weaver of words who ignites minds with the spark of thought provoking ideas. Not to mention, her hobbies out of school include being an award-winning debater and netball player and her personal favourite is dancing, which for her, is the key to getting away from life and breathing. She believes social media has the potential to be a force for good, and she's here to challenge us all to use it to spark meaningful conversations and positive change

She loves to display her knowledge and understanding about the environment and different steps that we can take to secure a sustainable future. Moreover, she likes searching for opportunities to speak about the topics that inspire and influence her. Other than her passion for what she wants to pursue in the future, Saiprisha enjoys learning music, dance, cricket, gymnastics and swimming as her hobbies, and science, math, history and geography at school. Saiteja Agraharapu is a year 8 student at JC. He is an emerging scientist with a love for biology. He is also passionate about various other subjects like economics.

14-year-old Xiao Zhang is a Year 9 student at Jumeirah College, Dubai. Fascinated by physics and the mysteries of the universe, Xiao loves exploring complex scientific concepts. Outside the classroom, he enjoys sports and debating. In Xiao's TEDx talk, they explore the revolutionary potential of muons, a subatomic particle with the power to transform fields like archaeology and natural disaster prediction. Xiao aims to inspire curiosity and a deeper appreciation for science.
