This change brings with it multifarious opportunities for development and change also removes much of the ways of the past, presenting new challenges. We need to constantly evolve to mould ourselves for the obstacles in this Brave New World

A 'Brave New World' has often been characterised in literature as an ironically dystopian society that seems perfect on the surface but has deep rooted shades of a totalitarian world. It is theorised that we are soon approaching this Huxleyan world but reality is not as morbid and we have some outstanding individuals to thank for that. These people have certain characteristics that makes them a rebel in this Brave New World.

Capt. G R Gopinath

Founder- Air Deccan

An Army Officer, India's leading businessman, an eco-friendly farmer, and a well-known author. In spite of his many roles, he's best known as the father of Low-Cost Carriers (LCC) in India. a venture capitalist who revolutionized the face of Indian aviation in the country. India's first low–cost airline the Air Deccan was launched by Gopinath in 2003 on the sole premise of ensuring that even the common man could afford to fly. As a result of his business ideologies, the airline industry has become a thriving and profitable segment of the economy, has become an affordable and feasible mode of transportation for most Indians. Captain Gopinath's contributions have won him several accolades some of them have been Chevalier de la legion d'Honneur, Rolex Awards for Enterprise, and Rajyotsava Award. In 2020 an Indian film Soorarai Pottru was also made which was inspired by events from the life of Gopinath and is based on his memoir Simply Fly: A Deccan Odyssey

Gold Medalist in MA (Applied Psychology), PG Diploma (Counseling & Hypnotheraphy) Defence Institute of Psychological Research DIPR, DRDO trained Personality Trainer Assessor, Selection panelist of SP Jain Institute of Management & Research, Mumbai, currently working as director of AFOSOP. Today, the battles that humanity has to face are stressors that are more taxing on our mental strength as compared to the physical. As such, it is more important to fortify our minds and develop the bravery to approach the world around us. Lt. Col. Ganesh Babu is an excellent fit for such a topic given his background with AFOSOP (training potential cadets for the SSB), his Gold Medalist status in MA (Applied Psychology), as well as the mental strength that he has portrayed through his own life story.

Manushi Ashok Jain

Architect

Manushi is an Architect and Urban Designer. Since 2012 she has actively worked on a wide range of projects around the world such as Boston, New York City, Singapore, Mumbai, Bangalore, Afghanistan, France and Croatia. She is a strong arts and design professional with areas of focus and research in urban housing, hyper-density and resiliency in urban development. Having pursued her Masters in Architecture and Urban Design (MSAUD) from Pratt Institute, New York and Bachelors of Architecture from Anna University she has equipped herself with innovative design methodologies that have helped her comprehend the relationship between architecture, interior design and urban design and their interdependence. Always on the quest for the right balance between modernism and regionalism. She has received the ‘Creative Thesis Design Medal Award by A+D magazine’ and shortlisted among the top entries for many other international design competition awards.

Nilesh Nilkanth Oak

Nilesh Oak holds BS & MS in Chemical Engineering and Executive MBA. He has a deep interest in Astronomy, Archeology, Geology, Genetics, Quantum Mechanics, Economics, Ancient narratives and Philosophy. He has authored three books- “When did the Mahabharatha war happen?”, “Bhishma Nirvana: An Astronomy Poison Pill”, and “The Historic Rama: Indian Civilization at the End of Pleistocene”. Mr. Oak’s passion and experience studying the Mahabharatha places him in an excellent position to analyze our historical stories to extrapolate lessons from them to be applied towards our future.

A self taught actor with a theatrical background, Rucha has been directed by acclaimed directors such as Shoojit Sircar, Anurag Kashyap, Pradeep Sarkar, Tigmanshu Dhuliya, Ram Madhvani, Sanjay Gadhvi and has performed with seasoned actors including Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan, Anil Kapoor. Her story is an insight into building a career brick by brick based on pure gut-feel, consistency and determination.

Sachin Chavan has been heading the Rides Department of Royal Enfield for over a decade. However, Sachin has more than a professional attachment to Royal Enfield. The mastermind behind the Royal Enfield properties like Himalayan Odyssey, Unroad, Rider Mania and all other Royal Enfield official Rides, Sachin Chavan has got many podium finishes under his belt, being the first person to win the Raid De Himalaya on a Royal Enfield just being one of them. Over the years, hundreds of enthusiasts have cherished his company and guidance. He has had a multitude of experiences and accumulated numerous stories on the routes you are about to traverse but that would be too long to list here. Sufficient to say there is something for each one of us to discover.

Past President -ICAI, Padma Shri

A Chartered Accountant by profession and has served as the President of ICAI during 2006-07 and was instrumental in charting the road map for several accounting reforms in the Indian System and pioneered proactive amendments to the Chartered Accountants Act, 1949. He was nominated by the Government of India to the Board of Satyam Computer Services Ltd. He made a significant contribution to the revival of the erstwhile Mahindra Satyam within a short period. Currently a member of the Standing External Advisory Committee of the RBI for evaluating applications for Universal Banks and Small Finance Banks. He is also a recipient of the Padma Shri Award in 2010. His major contributions to our Nation and Economy occurred during a time when there was no such an over-reliance on technological AI rooted analysis. Instead, he had to maximize the ability of his mind to analyze situations to think of the most logical solution. in this talk, he conveys his experience in reviving Mahindra Satyam.
