In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Love & The Outcome

Singer/songwriter Jodi King and her husband, bassist Chris Rademaker, know the feeling of watching the sun set in California. Windows down, U2's The Joshua Tree blaring on the radio, they've felt the rush of warm, dry wind as they cross the desert in the direction of the neon lights of the city. The duo, known as Love & The Outcome, set out to recreate the feeling of that unforgettable setting on These Are The Days, their long-awaited sophomore effort. "There's something about California," Jodi says. "These songs just felt like a sunset there. It felt like dust, like a desert, so we knew this where we needed to start making the record." It was in 2013 that Love & The Outcome debuted their self-titled album with Word Records, and they soon became a mainstay at Christian radio. They toured all over the U.S. and Canada, sharing the stage with artists such as Newsboys, Switchfoot, Lecrae, TobyMac, Jeremy Camp and Francesca Battistelli. But to get there, Jodi and Chris had to walk through a spiritual desert. For years leading up to their first album, they maintained a grueling touring schedule, sold their house and possessions, said goodbye to Chris' mother after a battle with cancer, and hit pause on their promising careers. Yet after many painful stops in their journey, they felt the pull to keep going. They relocated to Nashville from Canada, bought a house, had their first child, and got back on the road.

Tyson Motsenbocker

In North Central Washington State, Tyson Motsenbocker grew up in the apple orchards and pine forests at the foothills of the Cascade Mountains. It’s the pastoral sound of his childhood that has defined the sound of his music, even among the freeways and fast pace of his new Southern California home. After the release of two EP’s Until it Lands and Rivers and Roads Motsenbocker defined himself as a mature lyricist and accomplished songwriter, sharing the stage with the likes of David Bazan, Vance Joy, and James Bay. In 2013, after the death of his mother and hero, Motsenbocker walked the six hundred-mile stretch of coastline to San Francisco in memory of her. In the contrast of loud cars on a dirty highway with the serene beauty of the Pacific Ocean, Motsenbocker contracted a new view of life beyond loss, a renegotiated relationship with God, and peace inside the turmoil. This walk would become the basis for his debut full-length record available now on Tooth & Nail Records.

Zack Honavar

Zack Honarvar is the founder of One Day Entertainment (ODE), a diversified entertainment and media company in Los Angeles — known for representing some of the most-respected creator brands such as Yes Theory, Airrack, and the Cheeky Boyos. Zack has quickly become one of the most respected emerging managers of digital talent, ironically for his belief that — creators should be treated like startups instead of talent, and he should act more like a CEO than a manager. This mindset has helped him facilitate deals with some of the biggest studios, brands, and talent in Hollywood — from lululemon to Will Smith to Google. It's also helped him to make a series of lucrative investments on behalf of his clients, build massive creator apparel brands, and develop brand new out-of-the-box distribution strategies for documentary content. In everything he does, Zack's purpose is simply to empower creators and entrepreneurs to "do better business" and take bets on themselves, so that they can turn their creative talents into real, lasting impact and wealth.
