Zero Waste Living Practitioner

Andhini Miranda is a housewife who has one son. She is not an environmental expert, also has no environmental science background, nor ever worked in environmental institutions or organization. However, in 2012, she chose to learn how to reduce waste along with her husband and newborn child. She doesn't want to inherit waste and cause various diseases in her children, so year after year, she learned to reduce the amount of daily waste as much as possible. Starting from stopping using products that have the potential to generate waste, making homemade various cleaning products, to eliminating the function of the trash can at home. In 2018, Andhini Miranda has stopped donating waste to landfills and is still in the process of reducing the amount of household waste and leaving no trace of trash anywhere.

Since 2010, Margianta has been engaged in local and global development networks, particularly on youth participation, global health, and social justice. Margianta’s experience range from grassroot works to high level advocacy. In 2015, he co-initiated Youth Movement for FCTC, focusing on tobacco control. In 2017, he founded Emancipate Indonesia, a non-profit with focus on modern slavery. He also joined UNFPA Youth Advisory Panel to promote Comprehensive Sexuality Education (CSE). Today, Margianta is the Young Leader Consultant for UNICEF HQ. Margianta has been invited to international forums, including One Young World where he spoke in front of 2.000 people from 193 countries.
