Theme: The Big Picture

TEDxYouth@CNMVSlobozia is the first TEDxYouth event in Slobozia, organised by students from all around the town, and not only. This is an event for the curious minds that want to learn more from speakers with experience and with a lot of ideas. Our theme, “The Big Picture”, can start interesting conversations that you will encounter at the event and that will spark your interest. We cannot wait for you to take part in this event that will take place in April 2021.

Ada Galeș

Actress&Entrepreneur

Ada Galeș is a Romanian actress and the Co-Owner of We are Phoenix, an inspiring cruelty free brand that sells handmade scented candles and even more products for a calming pamper routine. Her first role was in 2013 in the movie “La multi ani!”. She is also known for playing in “In Blue (2017)”, which was selected for the Oscars, “Love Bus: cinci povesti de dragoste din Bucuresti (2014)”, “Fight Night 2: New Blood” and “Un om la locul lui (2018).” In the past years, Ada has helped many people to believe in themselves to start their own businesses and even more.

Ali El-Lakkis

Game Designer&Ambassador

Ali El-Lakkis is an ambassador and game designer at The Sandbox Game. A former student at "Lycee Français Anna de Noailles" from Bucharest, he was a leader of his community and and autodidiact in many disciplines such as personal development, journalism, graphic design, game development, social media management, video editing and psychology. He now contributes to the development of the independent platform The Sandbox a unique, virtual world based on blockchain. The Sandbox is now part of the "Top 10 most anticipated blockchain games", but also part of the "World's Top 50 Blockchain Game Companies".

Ana Elena Ramașcanu

Dermatologist

Ana Elena Ramașcanu is a resident physician who graduated from the University of Medicine and Pharmacy “Grigore T. Popa”. She discovered her passion for biology despite the fact that she has always been interested in literature. In the present, she is a dermatologist and a content creator, posting videos and messages in which she encourages teens to have a healthy lifestyle, not shying away from breaking the silence about sex education.

Cristian Neagoe

Press&Comms Officer for Forests and Biodiversity

Cristian Neagoe is a true authority when it comes to these types of conferences. With a Master's degree in Philosophy from the University of Bucharest, Cristian shined in the humanities sector right from the fulfillment of his studies. He worked as a librarian, editor, curator, producer and organizer of events in Bucharest and New York for organizations such as Cărturești, The Romanian Cultural Institute or British Council. He translated in Romanian literary works by Art Spiegelman ("Maus"), John Pinder ("The European Union") and Charles Bukowski ("South of No North"). Currently, Cristian is a press officer for Greenpeace, an independent, international organization, which uses creative, non-violent confrontation in order to expose global climate issues and to push for the promulgation of some essential solutions for a green and peaceful future.

Diana Cojocaru

Artist

Diana Cojocaru is an artist from Slobozia, currently residing in Bucharest. A graduate of the Architecture & Urbanism faculty of the Bucharest National University of Arts, Diana is a graceful person and an ingenious interior designer. She is an artist who paints the most charming flowers and marvels her followers with her collections, ranging from sculptural porcelain jewellery to watercolour paintings.

Florin Râșteiu

Civic Activist

Florin Râșteiu is a student from Alba Iulia who is currently studying Political Sciences at the University “Babeș Bolyai” in Cluj. He has a deep interest in civic activism and NGOs after he has represented his classmates in the Students’ Council for years, both for his school and for his county. He has started taking part of Forum Apulum, an NGO with the goal of stimulating the citizens to participate civically in 2018 and since then he has worked on different projects that some of us may have heard of without connecting them to a name, such as “The Illustrated Guide for Students”.

Ioana Cărtărescu-Petrica

Sociologist&NGO Founder

"Nobody is too little, too unwitting, too helpless, too burdened by difficulties to be helped. And to help in return. We all shape the world through our gestures, so let's shape it through kindness". This is the motto of Ioana Cărtărescu’s most recent initiative "Fiecare Contează". Through this project, she aims to increase the access to books to children and seniors found in disadvantaged communities. Moreover, because books are an essential part in the development of all people, "Fieacare Contează" has created a "Neighbourhood Library" in front of their headquarters where all people can come to take a book or donate one as their heart desires.

Marilena-Veronica Ene

NGOs Enthusiast

Marilena-Veronica Ene is an NGOs enthusiast with an interest in education. She’s currently the acting country representative for the American Councils for International Education in Romania. She was born in Ialomița and moved to Bucharest to study Political Science, a degree that she continued to pursue at the University Libre in Bruxelles. Her passion for volunteering made her interested in becoming a coordinator for many projects related to students’ education, such as the Flex Programme and Camp Kennedy.

Ruxandra Gîdei

Content Creator&Student

Ruxandra Gîdei is a Youtuber from Oradea who started her channel “4fără15” as a way of expressing her passion for poetry and literature. Ruxandra loves promoting contemporary poetry and books from a variety of categories, so we are sure that if you check out her channel or Instagram page, you will find something that will spark your interest. She is currently studying English Literature at University of Bucharest and she plans on becoming a teacher.
