In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Lex Low has too started initiatives such as Asli Barber Project, Barbering Sponsorship Course and Cut X Dignity. These projects aim to touch lives via the act of haircutting.

Mariani Ramli (Bam)

Mariani Ramli a.k.a Bam Arrogancia is a former wildlife ranger with the Wildlife Department of Peninsular Malaysia for more than 10 years. Throughout those years, she worked in animal conservation projects as a researcher. She founded the Gibbon Rehabilitation Project (GReP) in 2013 and the Gibbon Conservation Society (GCS), formerly known as the Gibbon Protection Society Malaysia in 2016, after learning about the plight of the endangered gibbons and other primates in Malaysia.

Nicolette Wei Mei Wong

Nicolette Wong is currently finishing up her PhD in Anthropology at the University of Pittsburgh in the US. She received her MSc in Sociology from the University of Oxford. She currently studies how digital technology interacts with one’s offline reality and ideologies.
