In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Gauranga Das is a BTech from IIT Bombay and is the Director of Govardhan Ecovillage (GEV), the first NGO in India to receive the United Nations World Tourism Organization award. GEV is also affiliated to UNECOSOC, UNCCD and UNEP bodies of the United Nations and has received several national and international awards. As a social reformer, he is facilitating the economic and social development of over 78 tribal villages in Palghar. He is an inspirational speaker and has spoken in various conferences like TEDx and corporates like Google, Intel, Salesforce etc. An extraordinary teacher and academician, he is the trustee of a vast manuscripts library containing approximately 20,000 works. Serving as Chairman of Bhaktivedanta Vidyapitha Research centre, a centre affiliated with Mumbai University for awarding PhD in Indian Philosophy.
