During the first reading the question “what do people need” seems very simple. However, if we try to answer it, the first idea will be about Maslow's hierarchy of needs, and only trite things are coming about.
There is definitely no unambiguous answer to this question. There are people, who constantly have a need for changing the current state of affairs. And there are indifferent observers-consumers, who always maintain aloofness. Why is the philosophy of a "who cares" attitude, according to which there is no need to worry about anything, to want something seriously, so widespread today?
How do needs change during the transition from consumer society to knowledge one and innovative economy? Who and what does form human needs today?
How the answers to these questions are connected with the culture, which a person belongs to, and with the sphere, where he acts?
Answering the question “what do people need”, entrepreneurs, social designers, scientists and engineers, politicians and simply those “who need most” from Russia, Ukraine, Japan and America will share the ideas, which worth being disseminated.
