In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Jana Hořická

Architect
An architect and a bit of a gardener. Since 2012 she is part of School of Architecture at the Faculty of Engineering at Czech Technical University in Prague. She campaigns for better cooperation between schools at her faculty. Apart from that, she focuses on urban areas and sustainable architecture. She believes that will to change things around us is crucial, should it be even the smallest tiniest changes.

Jiří Hořavka

Graphic Designer
Jiří has just entered his thirties without ever being employed. After finishing his degree in visual communication and digital media at Technical University in Liberec, he co-founded a visual studio _Stroy. He’s been working there since, cooperating with other artists on projects where various visual disciplines intertwined and thus open windows to new dimensions, enabling to see the world, space and its boundaries in a new way. At TEDxLiberec he presents one of his projects called SSSSSSPACE, which aims to open a window to new surreal spaces.

Jiří Křížek

Museum Director
He has received a degree at Cultural history at Faculty of History at the University of České Budějovice. He has been a member of National heritage institute in Prague and in Liberec. Preserving our cultural heritage is his life journey. Jiří has been in charge of Museum of Northern Bohemia in Liberec since 2011, that is currently being reconstructed. The reconstruction is held to transform the old institution into a museum of 21. Century, that would offer it visitors experience all of the exposition on their own pace and with more exciting features than just looking at displayed works.

Libor Pospíšil

"Principal live" Manager
Not long ago, Libor was a consultant and facilitator specialised in marketing strategies and company ethos. He used to work for the biggest companies, international start-ups or state institutions. Now he is part of NGO “Teacher live” where he is managing a project “Principal live”. The project is aiming to support principals in their complicated job role so that they would have more time to actually spend with children.

Michaela Duffková

Former alcoholic
She’s a 27-year-old former alcoholic and her famous blog “The diary of an alcoholic” has received prestigious award Magnesia Litera. Nowadays, Michaela is preparing an opening of Centrum Alkos - a community centre for those who cannot deal with the demon alcohol on their own. A special feature of the Centrum Alkos will be a community group for mothers who might be affected by addictions is to be open by the end of 2019. Michaela is working as a manager for a private company and she is a mother to her 4-year-old daughter and two bulldogs.

Petr Winkler

Head of Social Psychiatry Research Program
After finishing his degree in Public policies and social work at Philosophical faculty of Charles University in Prague he has received funding at Psychiatry, Psychology and Neuroscience Institute at King’s College London where he has dedicated his Ph.D. project to health economy in psychiatry. He is mainly interested in the research of psychiatric epidemiology, health economics, suicidology, stigmatisation and discrimination, and socio-cultural aspects of psychedelic movement within psychiatry. He is taking part in reforming the Czech psychiatric healthcare system and is a leader of three national projects focusing on destigmatising and preventing psychosis. In 2017 he was awarded by European psychiatric association for his remarkable publication in category of Psychiatric epidemiology.
