At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Anuradha Pal

Anuradha Pal has been recognised as the “First Professional Female Tabla, A virtuoso in the World” by the Encyclopaedia Britannica & the Limca Book of Records. Called the Rhythm Queen, she has been a recipient of the First Ladies’ National Award 2018 from the President of India, among other accolades. She has performed in prestigious music festivals like the Woodstock Festival, being the first female Indian musician to do so. In addition to being a tabla phenomenon, she is a multi-percussionist and a music composer. She is now the brand ambassador of the “Beti Bachao Beti Padhao” campaign, inspiring other women to empower themselves through her musical compositions. " If the male synonym for the tabla is Zakir Hussain, then the female equivalent has to be Anuradha Pal. " - Hindustan Times

Arun Krishnamurthy

Arun Krishnamurthy, a passionate environmental activist and conservationist, quit his job at Google to devote himself to his dream of rejuvenating our natural habitats. He has been dedicated to restoring India’s water bodies and has inspired communities to clean their polluted urban lakes. He founded the Environmentalist Foundation of India (E.F.I), a wildlife conservation and habitat restoration group. He has won many laurels for his tireless work. In 2010, he became the British Council Climate Champion and went on to win Google’s Social Impact Award in 2011. His greatest recognition so far has been receiving the Rolex Award for Enterprise in 2012. As writer-journalist Shobha Warrier has rightly stated, he lives to keep the environment alive.

Daniel Ramamoorthy

Dr Jayanthi Kumaresh

An artist, collaborator, composer, researcher, creator, pioneer, and educator – Dr Jayanthi’s life achievements over 30 years, truly embodies the rich musical heritage of India - making her one of the legendary Veena masters that India has ever produced. Blending the traditional and the innovative in her music in terms of content, technique, virtuosity and expression, Jayanthi seeks to express the true voice of the veena, which transcends the boundaries of language and region. This talk focuses on exploring the voice of the Veena where she discusses how the veena is as old as the Vedas and as new as tomorrow, all while the veena evolves in shape, sound and structure - a true Renaissance.

Dr Shubha Tole

Shubha Tole is a neuroscientist, a professor and principal investigator at the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research in Mumbai. The subject of her research is the development and evolution of the mammalian nervous system. She has made significant contributions to understanding how the brain's structure and circuitry are formed in the embryo. Her research has won her many accolades. She was awarded The Infosys Prize 2014 in Life Sciences for having discovered common genetic mechanisms crucial to the development of the hippocampus, cortex and amygdala. Being a TEDx and TEDxGateway speaker, she is passionate about sharing her knowledge to inspire the youth.

Dr Sonal Mansingh

Sonal Mansingh is a prominent Indian classical dancer who specializes in Bharatanatyam and Odissi... For her contributions towards promoting 'Classical dances', she has received accolades-she was the youngest recipient of Padma Bhushan in 1992. In 2003, Sonal became the first Indian woman dancer to be awarded Padma Vibhushan. She has been nominated by the President of India to become a Member of Parliament, Rajya Sabha. Besides being a dancer, Sonal Mansingh is a well-known choreographer, teacher, orator and a social activist Thanks to her priceless lectures and workshops, many young aspiring dancers have gone on to realize the importance of classical dance

Mukesh Rawal

Mr Mukesh Raval was the project director of the Statue of Unity project at Larsen & Toubro. At almost twice the height of the Statue of Liberty, the colossal statue of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel stands proudly as the tallest statue in the world. It is a tribute to Indian engineering skills, says Larsen &Toubro. It was completed in a record period of time of 33 months with zero accidents. He has also headed other momentous infrastructural projects for L&T Oman such as the German and Buraimi universities, the Salalah Airport, the Ministry of Manpower headquarters, the 2010 Asian Beach Games site and the royal palace Bait Al Baraka.

Preveen Pandita

Preveen Pandita is one of the most famous illusionists and mentalists of Asia. Known for his hit TV show “Mystical Stranger”, a live street magic show, he has also performed in shows like India’s Got Talent and Trick or Real for Discovery Channel. He is the only magician from India to have won Ripley’s Believe it or Not Talent Hunt and represented India at the Ripley’s Museum in London. Combining clever visual effects with a sense of humour, he has been developing his own brand of magic to entertain people of all kinds and age groups with seemingly impossible feats.
