Theme: Showing Up

This event occurred on
December 4, 2018
Lincoln, Lincolnshire
United Kingdom

As part of this year's TEDWomen event, TEDxBrayfordPoolWomen celebrate the theme of showing up. We'll be joining TEDWomen for a simulcast from the main stage in Palm Springs and welcoming some phenomenal live speakers from Lincoln too.

Women the world over are no longer accepting the status quo. They're rising up, breaking out and pushing boundaries. Whatever their focus and talent — business, technology, art, science, politics — these pioneers and their allies are joining forces in an explosion of discovery and ingenuity to drive real, meaningful change.

TEDWomen will celebrate how these dynamic and diverse people are showing up to face challenges head on, all while empowering each other to shape the future we all want to see. We're showing up for TEDWomen 2018. Are you?

Lorena Hauton

Artist & Educator
As a self-taught socially engaged artist bringing up her son who has complex needs, Lorena identified a need for educational, fully inclusive bespoke art experiences in Lincolnshire. As a result, she founded Lorena Jane Art Ltd which incorporates the growing enterprise Take Part in Art. She works with schools, the home education community, adults with learning disabilities, commercial entities... in fact, almost anything goes where social art is required! As a business that’s success is measured in making a difference rather than profit margins, Lorena is proud to this year be a Theo Paphitis SBS winner and Lincolnshire media awards One to Watch.
