Alexandre Heeren

PhD in Psychology
Alexandre is a Professor of psychology and FNRS Research Associate at UCLouvain. An enduring theme across his research is the study of the mechanisms of anxiety disorders. Current research includes the application of computational network approach to mental health and several therapeutic agendas.

Daniel Goddemeyer

Researcher & designer
Daniel Goddemeyer is a researcher & designer who creates award-winning interactions with technology (specifically data) through products, services and interactive experiences. He is currently the principal of the New York City based research and design studio OFFC, that works with global brands, research institutions and start-ups to explore new product applications for their emerging technologies. With his own research and his MFA class at the School of Visual Arts he explores how the hidden, ethical implications of these technologies will impact our future everyday lives. For his work he has received several distinctions from the Red Dot award, Fast Company’s ‘World Changing Ideas’ award, the German Design Price and the Industrial Designer Society of America.

Dominikus Baur

Data visualization developer
Dr. Dominikus Baur works as a freelance data visualization developer. His award-winning projects for clients like Google, the OECD or Microsoft Research make large datasets accessible, understandable, and usable. His work covers the whole spectrum from mobile apps, to websites, to large, touch-controlled installations – always focused on the people using them. As a computer scientist, he sees his work in the larger context of technological and societal developments and doesn’t shy away from asking critical questions.

Giovanna Di Rosario

PhD in Digital Culture
Giovanna Di Rosario teaches Digital Culture at the Polytechnic of Milan. She is the associate director of Hermeneia Group – Literary Studies and Digital Technologies – at the University of Barcelona. Previously, she worked in Belgium, Denmark, Finland, and Switzerland. She has been invited lecturer in several countries worldwide and published books and articles about Digital Literature.

Marie-Bernard Guillaume

Nathan Uyttendaele est l’un des statisticiens les plus populaires du pays. Avec Laura Maugeri et Gwenaël Grisi, il a fondé “La statistique expliquée à mon chat”, une chaîne YouTube comptant 150000 abonnés. Ancien chercheur, Nathan occupe aujourd’hui son temps entre vulgarisation et enseignement.

Nicolas d'Alessandro

Entrepreneur & musicien
Nicolas d’Alessandro est entrepreneur, ingénieur, ancien chercheur, musicien et designer. À l’intersection de ces différentes vies, il a inventé, il y a quelques années, un instrument de musique unique capable d’imiter la voix chantée : le HandSketch. Il est le co-fondateur de la startup Hovertone.

Pierre De Muelenaere

PhD in Applied Science & entrepreneur
Pierre De Muelenaere is engineer and entrepreneur. He founded the University spin-off IRIS in 1987, after he receided his PhD in Applied Science from the Université catholique de Louvain. He has been President and CEO of IRIS until 2015, a few years after the company had been acquired by the Canon Group. Today, he shares his experience in entrepreneurship and innovation through his regular columns in “L’Echo” and is advisor for young entrepreneurs in the start-up “Yncubator” in Louvain-la-Neuve.

Pieter Colpaert

Researcher & Open Data enthusiast
Pieter Colpaert is Technology coordinator at Smart Flanders and researcher at Ghent University, leading the ‘Linked Open Data Interfaces’ team of the Internet and Data lab. His research focuses on enabling route planning on large scale with Linked Connections.

Soufiane Amzur

High school math teacher
Soufiane is a young high school math teacher. Fond of computer science, he strongly believes digital technology will shape tomorrow’s society. He considers that more energy needs to be invested for a more accurate understanding and a smarter implementation.

Yves Deville

Professeur de sciences informatiques
Yves Deville est professeur d’informatique à l’Université catholique de Louvain (École Polytechnique). Ses recherches portent sur l’intelligence artificielle et l’optimisation. Depuis septembre 2014, il est Conseiller du Recteur pour l’Université Numérique.
