A Compassionate Instinct for the Greater Good aims to spread the true Lancerian ideology of compassion and coexistence. As we immerse ourselves into the globalized world, we begin to lose certain imperative qualities that have facilitated peaceful human coexistence and progress. The most important of those is compassion. To have compassion is to have the ability to look beyond the materialistic world and appreciate the true nature of what surrounds them. It’s to have the ability to love a person for their imperfections rather than despite them; it’s to accept a person as they come and to look for what is good in the world. That’s what we aim to endorse in TEDx Lancers International School; with our theme, we want to spread the ideas of compassion and social understanding.

Archana Garg

IB Diploma Programme student
Archana Garg, 17, is a senior at Lancers International School, undergoing the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme. She has always had an unexplainable passion for languages because she feels that language is the only medium through which a person can express the streams of thoughts going inside a person. She is a person quite unique from the rest in terms of what she thinks about her culture and language. Due to this, she has chosen Hindi literature instead of the mainstream English literature in IB. In her opinion, millennials are drifting away from their language and thus, their culture, in this era of rapid globalization. She feels that it is very important to stay connected to one’s ancestral roots so that there is a bond we share, the bond that connects us through history, ethnicity and values. This inspired her to share her thoughts on the path we’re heading towards and explaining to all the right equation of life and the real meaning of open mindedness.
