This is a Youth event where local high school students are participating in the whole process of making a TEDx event accessible to other students. This event aims to introduce new perspectives and ideas to students who live in Jeju island. Jeju has a heart-breaking history in a breathtakingly beautiful nature. In the event, we are going to collaborate many different ideas such as peace, environment, community, and future under the theme of "Embrace changes".

Daehoon & Chanho Kim

High school student/Volunteer
Daehoon is a student at Ohyun High School and Chanho is from Sehwa High School. They worked as a volunteer in Papua New Guinea in 2015. They want to share the importance of experience and volunteering while breaking stereotypes of people from different backgrounds and diverse cultures.

Hyeongwook Yang

High school student
He is a senior student at Ohyun High School in Jeju, South Korea. He is interested in protecting the local culture of Jeju. He'll share what he gets to know while researching economic trends and population flow in Jeju.

John Chang

High school student
He is a freshman at Ohyun High School. He lived in the region of Central Asia ,once ruled by the Soviet Union, for seven years while his father was working as a missionary there. He experienced isolation and bullying at a very young age. He'll share his ideas and experiences of how we can stop bullying by being someone's friend.

Mari Arimitsu

Peacebuilder
She studied at UN University for Peace and interested in women's rights. She is also a volunteer translator and Japanese Language Coordinator for TED Open Translation Project. She is visiting South Korea to participate in an event for raising awareness of Comfort Women's issue. She'll give a speech on the issue of Comfort Women(sex slaves in Japanese occupational period) and modern slavery.

Namsu Bae

English teacher
He has been an English teacher for more than 10 years. Meanwhile, he has tried a lot of things in life such as living in Spain, the U.S, getting a bus driver's license, driving a very old car, learning new things and the like. He explains how wonderful it is to go on to the road not taken.

Ohyun Brass Quartet

Performer/Brass Band
Ohyun Brass Quartet consists of 5 brilliant members from Ohyun Brass Band which has a history of more than 50 years.

Sangyoon Kang

College student/Business Management
He is a graduate of Ohyun High School in 2016 and goes to Korea University majoring in business management. While he was studying at Ohyun high school, he conducted a survey research on how people perceive peace related to the tragic history of Jeju 4.3 where around 30,000 people were killed. He collected four years' data from the visitor's log at the memorial museum and analyzed key words according to the visitors' age, location and so on. He shared the significant implication from the research and gained the recognition from the local media.

Taesang Ko (D-Vo)

Rapper/Composer
He is a high school student and passionate about hip-hop music. He creates unique lyrics and rhythm putting together to spark something inside people. His interest focuses on social issues like inequality or materialism.
