Ketakandriana Rafitoson
Ketakandriana Rafitoson is a young Malagasy political analyst and activist. She has graduated from Madagascar’s Catholic University but has also studied at Nantes University and at the United Nations University, in Tokyo (Japan). Her major interests include democracy, development, human rights and political education.
Being one of the Friedrich Ebert Stiftung’s Youth Leadership Training Program (YLTP) beneficiaries, Ketakandriana has also been chosen by the US Department of State to be part of the International Visitor Leadership Program focused on “Grassroots Democracy” in 2010. In 2012, she has been selected to represent Malagasy Youth at the CIVICUS Youth and World Assembly, held in Montréal (Canada). In 2013, she took part to the World Justice Project Forum in The Hague and was invited to attend the 4th Ministerial Conference of the Community of Democracies, in Ulaanbaatar. This year, after exploring the European Union system in Brussels, she attended a TechCamp in Botswana and is part of a new thrilling project called NGOAfrica.
Involved since her high-school years in various youth associations, Ketakandriana is a member of Liberty 32 association and the founder and coordinator of the WYLD (Women and Youth’s League for Democracy) project. She is passionated about volunteering and strongly believes that every human being able to MOVE the world at his/her scale with just a strong will, a sense of commitment for the common good and a good strategy.
Chris Corbett
Chris Corbett is the founder and president of the Human Development League, a nonprofit organization dedicated to using the power of sport and education to unleash human potential. He received a Bachelor of Science in Business Management/Marketing in 2000 from Brigham YoungUniversity and a Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology in 2006 from Argosy University/Phoenix. In February 2007, during what was supposed to be a 5-day trip to Madagascar, he was inspired after playing ball with the street children to withdraw from his doctoral program in Psychology to found the Human Development League.
Lucas Rooney
Lucas Caleb Rooney is an actor and teacher from New York City. As an actor, Lucas has been on Broadway in Mike Nicols’ production of THE COUNTRY GIRL and Jack O’Brien’s Tony winning revival of HENRY IV. He is currently playing Gerald in Manhattan Theatre Company’s production of REGRETS. In addition to his many theatre credits, Lucas has appeared in numerous television and film roles, including LAW AND ORDER. He recently finished shooting a role in Rob Reiner’s SUMMER A DOG DAVE’S with Morgan Freeman and starred opposite Amy Pohler and Will Arnett in ON BROADWAY. As a teacher, Lucas apprenticed under Chris Bayes at the Yale School of Drama and teaches Clown and Physical Theatre at Tisch School of the Arts. He has served on the faculty at the Julliard School, NYU Graduate Acting, University of San Diego, University of North Carolina, University of Southern California, University of San Diego, The Actors Center, and The Studio New York.
Lucas is a graduate of The Old Globe Theatre’s Professional Actor Training Program, studied at The Actors Center and É’cole Phillippe Gaulier, and received a BA from Tulane University. He spent his formative years attending Tabor Academy and The Eaglebrook School for boys.
